  • LOL tang police

  • a tang in a 15 gallon? really.... how would you feel if someone stuck you in a small closet for the rest of your life? thats how your tang feels

  • Not flaming but seriously get that blue hippo tang out. Needs a minimum of 100 gallons 75 is OK but still I'd use 100 at minimum. They might be small. But not when it gets 13 inches.

  • sicko get the hippo tang outta there

  • go put yaself ina box yo! see the feeln ya tang feels

  • what song is being played ?

  • what kind of fish/inverts do you hav in there, i see a blue tang, a clown fish, a firefish or what ever u call it and a shrimp, whats the other fish?

  • @FishDevil789 six line wrasse!

  • Love the tank. I'm actually starting a similar one. Everyone who thinks the tang should have a bigger tank... well... GET OVER IT! I purchased an adult hippo tang (6-7in) that previously was in a 5-gal tank for over 2 years. It now lives in my 55-gal and is very active and doing great. This guy obviously knows what he's doing and he's not in the business of killing fish.

  • Hi, everyone say the same thing. the blue tang needs the other biger tank, but , I have1 blue tang in 12g and for 4 months everything is good .you can see my video jbjnanocube12g jc80 ,bye...

  • @ 99chevylr

as an aquarist you must provide a good quality of life for the organisms you are keeping, certain organisms require certain amounts of room as one of their basic needs.

People arent trying to degrade this person for wanting to keep these organisms, they are more concerned about the quality of life being provided, and no matter how good looking this tank is, the basic needs for these animals are not being provided space wise.

  • Looking Good Dude!! The fish look great thats what counts!! Keep up the good work!!

  • man shut up! if he wants to have a shark in there, let him! is his tank, his time and HIS MONEY! mind your own u punks

  • wow amazing set up. l really like the way you stacked the rocks.

  • wow the water is so clear!... i heard that the tang needs at least 55gallons? how is he doin in your tank? nice tank tho!

  • ok. you definitely need to be running a strong skimmer, or at least a real one, if you're going to be keeping two anemones in a 15 gallon tank. If you can't figure out why you shouldn't have bought them in the first place. also, i would bet money that blue tang is already dead, or removed from the tank. tangs need water constantly flowing over their gills to oxygenate properly and they can't do that without a lot of space. The tank did look pretty cool though, ill give you that.

  • Agreed. great tank but too small for a Tang. Odds are that the Tang has been moved by now or is dead.

  • how much did everything cost?

am thinking on starting my own marine tank any advantages or disadvantages copared to freshwater?

  • with the updated vid i have hit 2500 in fish and corals and others machinery. saltwater is fun and when u get the whole thing settled and running it runs on its own just need to do water changes and make saltwater and alos learn to test ur water parameters

  • @hahaitzkevinxp is there a way to make it cheaper? lol

  • What sort of protein skimmer are you using? Must be a big one to handle the fish load in just 15 gallons.

  • skilter 250

  • Isn't that a power filter? How do you keep your zooplancton and phytoplankton in the water column?

  • huh? its a nano skimmer im going against the odds with this tank its been a year now and im happy with the result just do weekly water changes its a constant game with this tank

  • Skimmer + Filter = skilter. It's a play on words. The "skilter 250" is a power filter with a skimmer built in, but a power filter nonetheless. The 250 refers to the gallons per hour pumped through it. True skimmers use surface tension to attract organic waste and remove it from the water column.

  • ohh i c well idk then the tank is fine with it i judt doo weekly water changes im looking into getting a aquac nano skimmer

  • haha nemo sound track lol nice tank hows your tang i want one for my 38 gallon and most people say this isnt suitable but i like how you said its a luxury for them cuz you pretty much give them all they want

  • good water = fish happy lol go fo it they just need a bigger tank when they get big

  • Well, it is a little more complicated than that. Even with the best water, a stressed fish will become sick.

Stress can be caused by overcrowding, incorrect substrate, over-skimming or under-skimming. By competition in the water column for their zone, or by fast swimming fish constantly invading their space.

I'm not saying your fish are unhealthy or even stressed, I'm just pointing out that there is more to it than just good water.

  • If the hippo is living in there temporarily that is fine but if its actually living in there thats not suitable. Hippo tangs need 100 gallon tank at least 6 foot long this tank does not cover it. I don't understand I see hundreds of people doing this its wrong and it ends up killing the fish. We don't have an endless supply of fish so don't waist them like they are some piece of trash. Please people listen. I do not mean to offend any one but its the truth.

  • Hi, your tank looks GREAT!!!!!

I would love 2 have a tank like yours!!!

My tank looks like crap that the mo!!

It's hard work this fish keeping!!

    Cheers.

  • this tank is very small for a blue tang, anyway tank looks good

  • What type of powerhead do you use? I have a 15 gallon freshwater that is nursing a Cichlid back to health for a friend but when he is out I want to start a nano reef. That is a really nice tank, job well done!

  • regular koralia power head

  • ty vm i will have an even better vid with more corals and some new fish !

  • this is really a good tank!

  • Very nice tank. I do hope that your tang is temporary quarantine. It needs a bare minimum of 50 gallons to live a full lifespan. Would recommend moving it to a larger system. Otherwise very nice tank.

  • 50 gallons? A hippo at the very least should have a 6ftx1.5ft tank at full adult size. That though is even small in my eyes.

  • i do this for a living bro i know what im doing the fish never read the books or w.e when its time to let him go well let him go. I've got tons of tanks at my workplace and anyway its captive bred. its a luxury for it to be in this tank good food daily and etc lol but i hear yah bro reach out to those that dont work in the field and have no bigger tanks

  • I don't think that any Hepatus tangs have been bred in captivity yet. Actually, I haven't heard of ANY tang species being bred.
