Right on! I finally got the actual 'Roadsinger' CD from Canada today. The sound of the music is even more exquisite than I had imagined it could be. It is a perfectly executed musical series. Only too short.

This 'Boots and Sand' video is both great music and a jokey take on what was a very bad situation. Help from Dolly Parton, Paul McCartney and others adds sparkle to a country-style piece. I can see where it does not fit the more sombre, spiritual tone of 'Roadsinger'. The new rock opera?!

I think this is favorite song of those I've heard so far from "The Artist Formerly Known As Cat Stevens". A close second is "Maybe There's A World". I think these two songs rank up there in the top 10 of his lifetime songs, possibly 5th and 6th place, just under his very best songs: "Moonshadow", "The Wind", "Morning Has Broken", and "Peace Train". Me too: that was a very emotional moment for me. Cat Stevens was the man who used to sing me to sleep at night back when I was 12 years old, lying in bed with a transistor radio pressed against my ear. Having him back in business again is like reuniting with an old friend who has been missing for 30 years.
