  • BTW, can you mention the name of the flight school/ company which offers this service ?

    Thanks

  • Awesome !!!!

  • Skip gave me my LOA in the L-39, I will always cherish the oppurtunity I had to fly with him!!!!

  • where can you ride one of these?

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • L-39 Albatros Jet can beat SU-35 mkm, F-22, F35, and Jas-39

  • @tongpeter2010 If it crashes into them, the chances of surival are equal :)

  • how much does it cost just to get a ride in one of these? and how would i get in touch with someone about that..lol definatly interested in savin up for a trip for this

  • I fly my little PA 28 out of Camden Airport near Sydney Aust., and there are a couple of L39's operating there which I have been considering buying a ride in. Upon viewing this video, I think the descision has been made! Its not cheap, but it sure looks worth it!

  • I can see you had the time of your life!!Great to see!!And verry nice from the owner to offer you this moment!

  • Does the L39 have de-ice boots for all weather flying ?

  • I would make a note on how much he said "Awsome" but hell I would do the EXACT same thing!

  • I love this plane in addition this video was made on my birthday 01/15, thank you!

  • In the vid you said you miss this. Did you fly in the past? I'm intrigued by your aviation history. Cheers!

  • thanks this is the best clip on youtube.

    this changes my life...

    being an pro pilot, this is where im going in 10 years...

  • I gotta learn how 2 fly one now!

  • you are so lucky

  • normal ppl (okay rich ppl) can buy these things:S

  • @falcotje with a type rating.

  • @falcotje PPL does not stand for people in this instance, it stands for Private Pilot License.

  • can you fly it with a normal PPL ?

  • I'd love to do that =)

    pfft i'd be satisfied with a cessna 172 though. (starting flight training this month woooo!)

  • Uhhh.. Having done both, this is not a true statement.

  • @dudewanarace yes i agree he is an idiot. FSX isn't full motion like a real aircraft so you dont get that bumpy factor or the seat of your pants feeling.

  • ur telling me you'd rather sit at home and play FSX then ride in or fly the real thing???

  • @soozikins HAHA Well homosexual probably would say that....

  • 400 gph  = fuck

  • 10 ft? that would be way to low for comfort for me.

  • Fantastic video, thanks for sharing keep flying :O)

  • I've always wondered, how do you record the conversations? Do you plug something into the audio jack?

  • I dont get it how can it burn like 500+ GPH ? like how big are the fuel tanks!!!???? can you only go flying for an hour or so.

  • Sure you can fly longer than an hour. Just don't keep it at full power the entire time. Not long after takeoff, he pulls it back to about 270 gph.

  • thanks :)

  • You cant really keep it going at full power longer then about 10 minutes or the engine will eiher explode or shut down automaticly since they get to hot.

  • @dudewanarace also the engine overheats teribly on full power

  • cool

  • "There's a car down there. We can strafe it... Dut-Dut-Dut-Dut-Dut."

    hahaha

  • You are one lucky bastard! lol

  • Brilliant.

  • Oh man! This is awesome! :D

  • Now that's what I call good flying.

    I've GOT to get me one of these.

  • Awesome video!!!! We have one at our local GA airport. Waiting in line to go up!!! Can't wait for the day. 5*****

  • he should not have a star on it, but Czech flag...

  • aaah that's a great video :)

  • Motherfucker. I'm so jealous.

  • lol dont be and whys my comment thumbs down?

  • basically because everyone is jeaulous.

  • the pilots got balls to fly that fly haha must have been real fun

  • Супер!!! Мастер покатал!!!

  • If you are going to fly with somebody, Skip has got to be one of the most experienced pilots to fly with.

    He can fly an Unlimited Class Mustang 500mph around the course at Reno.

    I think you have to be very experienced and brave to do that.

    Nice video.

  • I've seen one for $40,000

  • That may be true, but would you fly in it? I sure wouldn't...

  • @dudewanarace Why wouldn't you fly in a $40,000 one? may there be something wrong with it? (I'm interested to know, because I plan on buying one later in life).

  • I saw one of these for like $179,000. Pretty Sweet

  • Yeah, don't forget training, insurance, fuel, storage, maintanance etc...

  • then maybe $250K

  • $ 300,000 Purchase

    $ 5,000 LOA & training

    $ 12,000 Annual insurance

    $ 6,000 Annual hanger

    $ 13,000 Annual inspection

    $ 1,000 Minor maintenance

    $ 5,000 Parts annual average

    $ 1000 Per hour fuel burn

  • gotta take the fun out of it huh? hahahaha

  • @rhgrsh wow...

  • @rhgrsh owning your own Eastern Bloc cold war era Jet, and taking it up for a flight whenever you want - Priceless

  • @rhgrsh thanks for all the info. how many k can you fly without refueling 5000plus?

  • @Bennyclay661 no way. i imagine <1500

  • @rhgrsh Feeling like your Tom Cruise in Top Gun... priceless

  • @RainbowManification feeling like you can comment about shit you don't understand... worthless..

  • @peanut9898 Feeling like a troll... over $9000

  • @RainbowManification i never troll, i post a thoughtful opinion.

  • @peanut9898 so what was so shit about my comment in the first place?

  • @rhgrsh Its not that bad if you have a commercial license and can charge people $2500 for a 1 hour flight and you can get a good number of hours per week. You can even buy the airplane and lease it to people who will fly it for customers and you could actually even make a profit. Or at least break even. :)

  • @rhgrsh The joy of flying: priceless

  • @rhgrsh zing thats a lot of money lol

  • @rhgrsh I'll take six!

  • @rhgrsh There was a guy on pawn stars selling one of these for 150-200 grand.Apparently that is what they are worth these days

  • I've seen them for only $30,000

  • That _was_ incredible. I envy you! Hope to one day (after my studies) take PPL and maybe some aerobatics. And to one day catch a flight with a l-39, looks amazing! Is the flight done in a 'regulated' area or something - since you're flying so low? Here (Norway) there is a 500ft limit pretty much everywhere i think..

  • Where are you? I could rightly understand the limit here in western Norway, seeing as there are many long fjords that are so tempting to fly into... but you can fly at 500' and still have vertical walls 2500' above you :)

  • They start in Henderson, Nevada right next to Las Vegas. The Colorado river is maybe 20 miles away.

  • hey ive seen plenty of L-39s for sale does anyone know what kind of licence you need to fly one? im just curious because im doing my PPL right now. cheers

  • An L-39 requires a Letter Of Authorization (LOA)from your local Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) after you pass a checkride. The normal FAR requirements, i.e. medical, plus a minimum of 1,000 hours of Pilot In Command (PIC). Recent turbine time a must, plus a very good working knowledge of the L-39 systems, flight envelope, and emergency procedures.

  • hell i was going to buy one but i'm not going to have any money left to fly

  • I think that is 435lbs per hour, not gallons per hour. The L-39 holds 2300lbs of fuel internally, and one gallon of JP-4 weighs 6.84lbs. Do the math, and your endurance would be less than one hour. This doesnt make sense. I think its 435lbs per hour. it also doesnt make sense because when you do the basic division, the aircraft only holds roughly 330 something gallons, so there is no way that it was burning 435 GALLONS per hour....maybe POUNDS.

  • Thanks, but I did mean 435 GALLONS per hour. That is a maximum performance take off, followed by a 3 g verticle pull, the most load and throttle you could put on the engine. Doesn't mean you are going to do 100% of your flight this way. This L-39 burns about 340 GPH on climb, ballpark of 200 GPH for most aerobatics, and 140 GPH or so in cruise. That gets you 2 hours in cruise(330 gallons, 2300 lbs) easy. Hell it burns 70 GPH at idle!

  • So where was this and how much? Looks like Lk Mead? Havasu?

  • that looks like so much fun, how much is a ticket? =D

  • Can anyone if the price is met, Be able to take a ride like this. It has been a dream of mine my whole life to have a ride in a Jet. I would love to hear back from you on this. Great Video thanks allot!

  • I know of a few places you caan get a ride in an L-39...

  • Definitely lower than 50ft :-) must have been quite an experience. Great vid, great plane.

  • no 50ft take a look

  • L39 is one of the easiest jets to fly. it is a trainer after all.
