yea sure like everyone says, these two guys suck, thats why 1 million people are watching them, not including all those ppl irl. if you vsed then 1 vs 1, theyd most likely down u in 3 seconds.
OK! everyone listen here both fighters in this video cant fight and i will tell you why. First of all the karate fighter is to agressive and charges in to the oponent without having his hands up and swinging awkward hooks on the kickboxer. Second of all the kickboxer is supposed to counter which he doesnt but its good that he had his hands up. For the kickboxer when someone chargs at you like that your supposed to left push kick the oponent in order to push him back and then launch a right kick.
@joker4835 trust me if he was to do that he would win i have went to a kickboxing match to watch anc i know one off the guys he kicks people in the head
@bpmlad1999 Well, then you know nothing of fighting. To become what some call the Ultimate Fighter, (Kick)boxing is a necessity. Unlike karate. I did both but now Kickboxing only, and I can tell you, Kickboxers are much better fighters.
gloves profoundly change technique.i would be confused and scared wearing them.i learned karate (shotokan)in the late 80's and would not know what to do with them on like how do i make a proper tight fist with my pinky finger?how do i chop or palm?how do i grab and throw?very brave people to get in the ring and bash each others brains in.i like watching though.
Also, I'd say this is trouser kickbox vs muay thai or savate. (The guy in the short trunks had certain muay thai elements such as his clinch however certain kicks felt more savate like.)
Kickboxing is better and that's not karate besides you can't use karate moves in a street fight you can lose trust me I went karate and I use it in a street fight and I lost so I went to kickboxing and the person I lost to I won so that means kickboxing is better
@rasimi11 Really... so even though 90% of the techniques are the same, and the most used techniques are all the same, karate techniques aren't fit for 'the street' yet kickbox techniques are? Do explain. A good karate school (meaning a school that trains with contact parring such as for example kyokushin and it's off shoots) will prepare you just as well for the street as kickbox does. If you were in a no-contact karate club on the other hand, that's a different matter
@rasimi11 I have taken both for many years I started in Karate which led me to Kick boxing just wanted more contact and I can tell you Karate did carry over very well with the exception of full contact in Kick boxing the techniques are not that far apart did you have contact in your Karate class meaning were you light ,semi,or no contact ? because I know very few schools that are no contact at the very least semi
@ProfessorTarl i like how karate guys use that excuse "dont limit us". well, kickboxers and muay thai fighters would still destroy karate even ungloved. take the gloves off of a kickboxer and see what happens. his punches get harder also dumbass. and he can grab also. duh!! use your mind idiot. notice how many punches the karate dude took?? without gloves it would have sleepy time.
@drywallfreak I like how people like you see all karate as the same. Do you think that would also happen if the opponent was from seidokaikan, daido juko, kyukushin...
@aiyer1989 actually as a professional fighter myself( look at my vids) yes i do think it would be very near the same. i think kyukushin is the best out of the bunch although i have trained in many of the forms of karate. its just not practical as a competitive means of fighting..as a self defence on the streets someone who is a black belt will probably win most of his fights, although not all. i know this from the students i have trained who got beat up as a black belt in karate.
@drywallfreak I don't completely agree with this. It is true that their lack of face punches is a disadvantage, mind you many clubs have started to train with face punches with gloves alongside normal kyokushin sparring.(And in seidoka it's incorporated in competitions.) However that disadvantage is negated by the amount of damage the average kyokunshinkai practioner can take, which is much higher than your average kickboxer. Depending on rules, I would put them on equal footing with kickboxers.
@drywallfreak I think the reason that Karate 'people' complain about gloves is the fact that many things in Karate are designed around fighting without gloves, and without rules, and unless Karate modifies itself, it doesn't apply to any arena outside of what it was designed for, which is civilian self defence.
I don't do Karate, I'm a Judoka, but I boxed as a youth, and have bare knuckle boxers in my family.
@drywallfreak The standard Karate guard is very similar to a bareknuckle boxing one, lead hand forward, rear hand slightly down and to the side, this is because the standard guard for gloved boxing is poor for fighting without gloves and parries are more important than shielding.
The stance is lower, like BK boxing, because throws were/are a part of both, lots of Judo throws are found in Karate.
@drywallfreak MT has a great clinch, but it's very different when your opponent is clothed, greater control etc, Karate has plenty of clinch strikes, but they are designed for opponents with things to grab, though hair or ears are an option.
Without gloves, you really don't need to hit people very hard, and the fact that power is the crux of your argument tells a lot, big overhand and looping punches were unheard of before gloves.
@Hankthejollyspoon power is not the "crux" of my argument, for you to say that shows how inept you are at reading.i mentioned it once that the kickboxer hit harder, but my main goal in that comment was that the skill level just isnt there from karate guys to not get hit. he took way to many punches. my point was that if he took that many bk punches he would have been dead. and elbows are the main thing that karate would die against, you grab a m/t fighter and think of knees only. wrong.
@drywallfreak Jabs and straights are the most important by far unless you want a broken hand.
Muay Thai had only little snap punches and weird haymakers which land with the soft pads of the hand, until it became a ring sport and we introduced boxing punches.
Boxing punches are best for the ring, but they are stupid and dangerous bare knuckled.
And to be honest, the real focus is on avoiding injury rather than hurting your opponent, the first is much harder than the last.
@Hankthejollyspoon soft pads of the hand huh? ever heard of pancrase? look it up. or how about bas rutten? the only guy to ever retire without losing his belts in mma, also ufc heavyweight champ and pancrase champ, loved using the so called "soft pads of the hand" because thats all you can use in pancrase fighting. ko after ko. oh yeah and what was his primary striking style? muay thai. those "weird haymakers" you talked about will put you to sleep.
@drywallfreak I was merely pointing out that the selection of hand strikes in muay thai was limited until the prevalence of gloved combat and the introduction of western boxing.
I am well aware of situations where one would use palm strikes instead of a closed fist.
As for the second point, you speak of every Karateka as incapable of defence in a bareknuckle situation, sorry, that's what they train for, that's how they fight.
@Hankthejollyspoon actually you just proved your ineptitude at even reading a few sentences and interpreting them correctly. i did say that karate is an effecient means of self defence on the street. but what is the point of this video dumbass? karate vs guy on street? no. its karate vs kickboxing, which stemmed the conversation of karate as a professional fighting style. so why dont you learn how to read you dumb motherfucker.
@drywallfreak I joined the conversation to point out why a Karateka would find gloved combat difficult, I never talked about the 'street', I was never talking about sport vs street, the entire conversation has been gloved vs ungloved, so why don't you actually read, instead of ripping on people for what you are guilty of.
I was not talking about methods of evasion either, whether western bobbing and weaving or Japanese sabaki.
@Hankthejollyspoon you joined a conversation about one thing and try to make it about something else then say im the one who cant follow?? the conversation was never about glove or no glove you idiot. one person commented about that yes, but in totallity it has been about (drum roll) (the name of the freaking video says it all) kickboxing vs karate. gloved or not. try to keep up dumbass.
@drywallfreak Lets get this straight, You made a point about Karateka whining about gloves, I pointed out reasons why a a bare knuckled fighting system is at a disadvantage in gloved combat and vice versa.
It is immaterial what you conversed with other individuals about.
I never made comparisons between any fighting styles.
I pointed out the difference between strikes and defence in gloved an ungloved systems.
@drywallfreak The entire discourse between you and I has been gloved vs ungloved.
If you cannot grasp that, your problem, not mine.
If you cannot move from one point to another, indeed, if you cannot move from a point made by one individual to a different but tangentially connected point by someone else than you have a problem.
This problem would usually be described as being an idiot.
@drywallfreak I was talking about blocks and parries, and why they change depending on whether one is wearing gloves or not, I included boxing as an example because it too has changed when gloves were added, but it has always, more or less, been a sport, unlike Karate, again, gloved vs ungloved, not sport vs street.
Most boxers have very good head movement, and good footwork, doesn't change the fact that standard boxing blocks are poor for bare knuckle fighting.
@drywallfreak I never met a gloved boxer able to deflect blows without gloves, but I have met many Karateka able to do the same.
Karate has a full complement of elbow strikes, round, rising, drop, side and back strikes, using both the point and the blade.
You come across like every ignorant MT nutrider I have ever met, ignorant of 'useless' martial arts, Ignorant of the fact that rules change the game, and ignorant of that Karate is a legitimate well rounded martial art in it's own right.
@Hankthejollyspoon im doubting that you have ever even met a boxer. watch roy jones junior, he doesnt even use his hands at all...one of the most skilled things about boxing is the ability to "slip" a punch without it landing while throwing a counter strike. so that sounds an awful lot like " I never met a gloved boxer able to deflect blows without gloves" (your quote) deflecting or avoiding a punch without even the use of his hands. so shut the fuck up about things you know nothing about.
@pikassproductions It depends on the association you train with, I train with the KUGB which is very traditional and put alot of emphasis on keeping to traditional Karate.
@wowpvpwarrior Try your karate 'defence stance' in a ring with boxing gloves on and against another experienced fighter, and you tell me how you get on.
The only real successful karate fighter to be great in the ring was Andy Hug in the K1 events. (i said ring, not octagon before you say Machida)
The guy in shorts is a muay thai fighter, notice in the clinch how he attempted to knee strike the other guy..his kicks are muay thai, with the hip twists.
Kickboxing over Karate anyday ! If you see jeremy wau you will agree! Karate has very little controll whereas kick boxing is completely about controll and flowing movements! Karate is just using your straight against the opponent in rugged movements whereas kickboxing is about using the other persons power against them... Be water ~ Bruce Lee
I'm pretty sure that anyone who are familiar with arts would know that neither any of the fighters were using karate, it's just a regular kick-boxing match.
@KashiemStreetdude Not a regular kickboxing match im afraid. Guy with the shorts is Muay Tai, the other guy definately not kickboxer/ Muay Tai. Looks like one of those wierd french Savate guys, but its hard to tell. Must of been an exhibition fight.
I see that there is a small difference between Kick-boxing and Muay Thai.
Kickboxing uses alot of kicks and punches, but muay thai usually uses more elbows and knees, I think. Or it can probably be savate, but in my opinion i think it's just a kick-boxing match.
@KashiemStreetdude Im a kickboxer myself. Kickboxers are only allowed punches and kicks above the waste. Muay Tai are allowed kicks below the waste and also elbows and knees. They are also allowed to clinch. That other guys definatley not any of these. Still think its probably an exhibition at a kickboxin tourney, but hey, who cares, as long as theres violence. lol. :)
Karate?, Where the guy that does Karate? ... I only see one or doing kickboxing against another ... I practice Sipalki-do and is an excellent martial art.
karate is prety decent for fighting, but they don't practice fighting as much as a muay thai guy(some do) most don't, and karate tournaments are based on inafective point sparring, muay thai fighters also have the best in ring record in the world, mostly the people who beat them are "san da" or regular kickboxing
Muay thai does have it 's fair bit of training but it wouldn't be nothing if karate never happened in okinawa.karate has existed and and has beenpractised by many today.that guy in green and yellow is a disgrace to his dojo and is not spirirtually fit although he got back up after many kicks and punches to the fce
they guy in the green and yellow clothes is karate i think, but i dont know it for sure, but the other one is kickboxer, and he won i suppose, the karate guy get to many hits at the face and he felt too often
The karate dork in the green is probably wondering shit why am i getting hit and why arent my take downs working. Thats cause Karate is a bullshit form of fighting.
@Gyro911 wow ur an ignorant , u dont know shit about karate, so stop trying to act smart, karate is heavy strikes, if you train hard enough its possible to beat a Kick boxer or a boxer, the only reason why kick boxing and boxing is strong is because the train like hell, btw scientist has tested it, they measured a karate strongest punch vs a boxers strongest punch, the karate punch was 5 times stronger then a boxers punch. dont under estimate any fighting style until you fought one
@14jstorm Show me a competition were Karate beats boxing or Kick boxing. The karate guy usually gets jabbed in the face and smothered because his stupid ass tehnique doesnt work in a real fight against a skilled boxer who knows how to skillfully punch and defend and who actually fights in matches rather then dumb ass stop and go exhibitions. Bring your Karate to me and i'll expose you for a fool with your chin up open target style
@Gyro911 this guy isnt even using a karate tehnique smart ass, that just shows how much you know about martial arts, its funny that you are hating over a style you know nothing about, dont underestimate a martial arts, because karate even has the power to kill, kickboxing and boxing is nothing if you dont spend 24/7 training, if a karate trained just has much as the boxer or kickboxer the KB and boxer couldnt stand up to him, this was proven SCIENTIFICLY dumbshit.
@14jstorm It resembles karate with his straight kicks, charging, and upright stance when punching. Whatever he's doing is totally opposite of kickboxing
@Gyro911 NOO, the way hes standing is totally diffrent and we dont charge in that idiotic way ,i agree with you in one thing this guy is a total idiot, but the way he hops around like that, not karate, and yes scientist made these two beginners practise for years and years with the exact same training, they did it with muiltiple groups just to make sure, and karate had the advantages, but im not saying boxing and KB isnt good, im sayin not to underestimate this style.
@14jstorm There you go with the science.Save that for the discovery channel. Lets see these guys prove it in a ring which every youtube video shows them losing.
im in kickboxing so far i have lost 1 fight 2 bjj cuz he got me 2 d floor but l8r i had a rematch i won if u ever go against sum1 wit bjj neva let dem grapple u
I imagine the guy in the Green and Yellow is the Karate man, as the other guy is throwing all sorts of other shit at him. There is no karate in this !!! This is just a brawl LMAO LAME lol
if u did karate and u fighing a kickboxer the best thing to do is NOT charge at them, try and counter get him off balance, then go for a knock out punch
@14jstorm if your a karate idiot fighting against a kickboxer or boxer best thing to do is get the hell out of the ring cause your style is gonna get you killed since it aint really competition fighting skill but more of a demonstration sport
k i do kickboxing and i didnt really see who was doing karate i gues he just sucked at it or something cuz there both just kinda doen random shit :/ and there fighting stanse's were both the same? wtf?
bien el de lopantalones cortos que buenas patadas se ve que hizo tae kwon do ! y buena tecnica el otro mamon que no lo saludo estoyseguro que es el de karate jajaja

@papanikolis07 No offence but the majority of modern Karate is Crapate. Nothing like what it was just 50 years ago.

@pikassproductions It depends on the association you train with, I train with the KUGB which is very traditional and put alot of emphasis on keeping to traditional Karate.

wowpvpwarrior 1 year ago
@wowpvpwarrior Try your karate 'defence stance' in a ring with boxing gloves on and against another experienced fighter, and you tell me how you get on.
The only real successful karate fighter to be great in the ring was Andy Hug in the K1 events. (i said ring, not octagon before you say Machida)

@TheDiyam
I'm pretty sure that anyone who are familiar with arts would know that neither any of the fighters were using karate, it's just a regular kick-boxing match.
KashiemStreetdude 1 year ago
@KashiemStreetdude Not a regular kickboxing match im afraid. Guy with the shorts is Muay Tai, the other guy definately not kickboxer/ Muay Tai. Looks like one of those wierd french Savate guys, but its hard to tell. Must of been an exhibition fight.
philhunter2005 1 year ago
@philhunter2005
I see that there is a small difference between Kick-boxing and Muay Thai.
Kickboxing uses alot of kicks and punches, but muay thai usually uses more elbows and knees, I think. Or it can probably be savate, but in my opinion i think it's just a kick-boxing match.
KashiemStreetdude 1 year ago
@KashiemStreetdude Im a kickboxer myself. Kickboxers are only allowed punches and kicks above the waste. Muay Tai are allowed kicks below the waste and also elbows and knees. They are also allowed to clinch. That other guys definatley not any of these. Still think its probably an exhibition at a kickboxin tourney, but hey, who cares, as long as theres violence. lol. :)

Eric1720 1 year ago
karate is prety decent for fighting, but they don't practice fighting as much as a muay thai guy(some do) most don't, and karate tournaments are based on inafective point sparring, muay thai fighters also have the best in ring record in the world, mostly the people who beat them are "san da" or regular kickboxing
marsy91 1 year ago
Muay thai does have it 's fair bit of training but it wouldn't be nothing if karate never happened in okinawa.karate has existed and and has beenpractised by many today.that guy in green and yellow is a disgrace to his dojo and is not spirirtually fit although he got back up after many kicks and punches to the fce

The karate dork in the green is probably wondering shit why am i getting hit and why arent my take downs working. Thats cause Karate is a bullshit form of fighting.
Gyro911 1 year ago
@Gyro911 wow ur an ignorant , u dont know shit about karate, so stop trying to act smart, karate is heavy strikes, if you train hard enough its possible to beat a Kick boxer or a boxer, the only reason why kick boxing and boxing is strong is because the train like hell, btw scientist has tested it, they measured a karate strongest punch vs a boxers strongest punch, the karate punch was 5 times stronger then a boxers punch. dont under estimate any fighting style until you fought one
14jstorm 1 year ago
@14jstorm Show me a competition were Karate beats boxing or Kick boxing. The karate guy usually gets jabbed in the face and smothered because his stupid ass tehnique doesnt work in a real fight against a skilled boxer who knows how to skillfully punch and defend and who actually fights in matches rather then dumb ass stop and go exhibitions. Bring your Karate to me and i'll expose you for a fool with your chin up open target style
Gyro911 1 year ago
@Gyro911 this guy isnt even using a karate tehnique smart ass, that just shows how much you know about martial arts, its funny that you are hating over a style you know nothing about, dont underestimate a martial arts, because karate even has the power to kill, kickboxing and boxing is nothing if you dont spend 24/7 training, if a karate trained just has much as the boxer or kickboxer the KB and boxer couldnt stand up to him, this was proven SCIENTIFICLY dumbshit.
14jstorm 1 year ago
@14jstorm Science and theory doesnt mean shit until you put it into practice. It only works in hollywood
Gyro911 1 year ago
@Gyro911 btw the guy in the green isnt even using karate
14jstorm 1 year ago
@14jstorm It resembles karate with his straight kicks, charging, and upright stance when punching. Whatever he's doing is totally opposite of kickboxing
Gyro911 1 year ago
@Gyro911 NOO, the way hes standing is totally diffrent and we dont charge in that idiotic way ,i agree with you in one thing this guy is a total idiot, but the way he hops around like that, not karate, and yes scientist made these two beginners practise for years and years with the exact same training, they did it with muiltiple groups just to make sure, and karate had the advantages, but im not saying boxing and KB isnt good, im sayin not to underestimate this style.
14jstorm 1 year ago
@14jstorm There you go with the science.Save that for the discovery channel. Lets see these guys prove it in a ring which every youtube video shows them losing.

if u did karate and u fighing a kickboxer the best thing to do is NOT charge at them, try and counter get him off balance, then go for a knock out punch
14jstorm 1 year ago
@14jstorm if your a karate idiot fighting against a kickboxer or boxer best thing to do is get the hell out of the ring cause your style is gonna get you killed since it aint really competition fighting skill but more of a demonstration sport
