  • i got a question??TO BE A PROFESSIONAL MODEL MAKER DO YOU HAVE TO KNOW MATH OR EVERTHING ITS MADE JUST BY THE REULER???

  • @eLCompaErik yes you have to know MATH.but nowadays you can print plans to scale and follow the measurement from it.

  • @aimanr Hi. May I ask a question? Do they teach in Architecture Class about on how to make buildings using this materials, how to stick them one another and are they also teach on how to make a plan by drawing it on a paper using the project that you created or make? is it easy? pls reply. thank you.

  • no need for math appart from basics as long as you can visualise what you are making there shouldnt be a problem. and 90% of the work is sanding anyway :)

  • simple but so smart

  • What was the tool that you used to make the wooden sticks completely vertical, at the beginning of the model

  • its already sold as vertical rods, all they do are cutting them shorter. search basswood and you will find out.

    Congratulações do Brasil! ^^

    *********

    Wou! This is really cool!

Best wishes for your done job! A really beautful job!

    Congratulations directly from Brazil!

  • not hardest one to make but still pretty cool.

  • What did you use to represent the brick parts?

  • pals wood and foam

  • what kind of materials did you use???

  • may i know the name of that green board??? and what,s the use of that? tnx...

  • That green board is a self healing mat. You place whatever you are going to cut on top of it, like that you wont damage your cutting blade or the table surface.

  • Great Maket congratulation guys you got talent. Keep it up

  • starrish,

the only advice i have is to not fill the porfolio with to many "architecture specific things" a good school is looking for someone that is a decent artist but more importantly thinks outside the box. plans, sections, and actual models of buildings are big no-nos. You apply to the school to learn these things so admissions are not interested in those "learned skills". Show that you have a unique perspective and put thought into how you compose your works of art. hope this helps

  • that is a really great advice.

im thinking of applying to the architectural program, at the Universiy of Waterloo (hope i make it ), next year. and i will seriously take ur advice into consideration.

    thnx :)

  • muy bueno :D

  • This was so fun to watch. It reminded me of my school days. Good news is that you might have an opportunity to build models with a laser cutter if you go to work for a big firm. That can be a very rewarding experience. Very nice model. Good luck with your studies and thanks for posting the wonderful video.

  • cant polish a turd

  • Comment removed

  • i am in high school right now but i have taken my design classes since 3 years now and i love model buildings except i get addicted...anyways any advice for me since i am making my architectural portfolio for university this year?

P.S i love how u actually filled in the window/ doors with the basla and wood because that just make it so bold

  • what kind of materials did u use?

  • nice you definately got talent

  • both of you guys amazing hello from turkey. . . congratulations

  • what do u guys prefer to use for adhesive? i found lock tite gel super glue works really well for most models.

  • pause at 1:39 really fast XDDD

  • haha how did you spot that!? funny!!

  • at 1:39 wt u see i architecure by god..:-)

  • 2 DAYS ONLY

    REALLY FAST .. MASHALLAH ^^

  • balsa?

  • very good!!! a interesant model....good work team!!! congratulations!

  • wow...that's fast.lol...good work..hey, and pretty girl...by allah!!

    cheers

  • what u mean by "by allah" ?!?!?!?!

    HUH?!

  • what do you think it means? duh...read the qumran

  • and u spelled Qur'an wrong, learn to spell.

  • to be honest, I give a s*** on the qumran (or qur'an). cheers buddy

  • hey, please do not mock the quran.

muslims have been reading it thousands of years ago. the word, sentence and the content havent change since the beginning. try to read it and understand it first. you'll be amaze how interesting it is. cheers!

  • well I like to read arabian tales, for sure they are marvelous. But as for me, I only read the BOOK OF BOOKS, that's already enough exciting for me. I didn't mean to mock the quran though. Cheers

  • what you guy want is giong to be done

  • amazing i really loved it and it looks totally perfect.Excellent craftmanship and perfectly defined language. What is the concept of your model?

  • the concept is quite simple.

the design tries to reduce the building cost.

so it uses typical wooden doors as modules for the main openings.

mind you that this is for the aborigines to live in. so they prefer open spaces.

  • i see pretty interesting. I'm really impressed that you guys did a very neat and clean model in 2 days keep it up :D

  • o nice.. I can actually see that.. cuz it kinda looks like a building but the fact about the windows looks like it's not transparent and the fact that it kinda looks similar to the experience that my friends built a hut in africa. VERY NICE =D

  • the windows are not meant for the glass to be install. its a typical door being used as the openings. btw, i luv to see your friends hut! it sounds interesting!

  • I'm also interested in doing architecture.. could you tell me what it's like and what do you guys learn and do you need to learn a software like CAD?

  • omg amazing!!!!

  • hey absolutely loved the video!

im only 15 and have done quite abit of model building and what you were doing there is exactly what i want to do when im older, so yes i shall attempt to build that...hahah!

Thanks heaps, looking forward to more.

Ps. what is that actually called (the name of that proffesion or what you were studying) where you actually build the models?

    Thanks

  • im studying architecture in universiti technology of malaysia. one of the best arch school in malaysia.

the course took me 6 years, but its worth it.

  • ha! howd yu see dat?

grgrgrgrgr i envy you so much! lol

    Greetings from argentina

    Kregl

  • its not really hard at all. All you gotta do is improve your techniques, listin to music, and have alot of patience! :D

  • Yeah, perhaps u might be right, but...eventhough...is not as easy to do that as...make coffee, u know what i mean!!!!!!

i'd like to do that with that perfection!!!

  • Well, thats how i see it being a model maker myself. Its not hard, just learning the shortcuts and tricks is all u need in model making.

  • How long have u been model making?!!!?

  • 4 semesters of college and i can make models i strongly feel is a rating of 8 out of 10. My profesors like my models so that shows im pretty good :D

  • Cool that great!!!

shows that ur really good at that!!

    and where are u studing?

  • NYC College of Tech.

  • hmmmm...never heard of it

(take into account that i'm from arg.)

  • its a small project for the aborigins in malaysia. notice that the windows, doors and openings uses the same door materials. because the aborigins prefer the outdoors rather than the indoor spaces. the design wants the building to be extremely cheap. this project costs less than RM20k i guess. thats around USD6,200.39.

  • great model, what is the project about?

  • man i wish model making realy was this fast

  • great video thanks for sharing

  • awesome job. love the way you show structure.

  • how did this get marked as spam?
