I watched this many times as a child in Sweden... along with Nausicaä, this was one of my favorites! Sadly, we didn't record it and then it stopped showing on the movie channel. I wish very much that I could find a copy... VHS, DVD, rip... it doesn't really matter. Well, I'm not prepared to pay 150$ for it... but still, it's gotta be out there somewhere on the web! Everything turns up eventually... please, someone, somewhere, rip this!

時代を越えて評価される良い作品だと思います。

今は家のビデオも劣化で見られないので。。

DVD化されないかな。

This was one of my most favorite anime as a child, So glad i was able to find it. I couldn't even remember the name to search! My friends used to think i'm crazy, walking around asking for an anime about a girl who can breathe under water whenever her hair turned blue. After a while i started to think that maybe i just made the whole thing up @__@!

My God i feel like crying, it means a lot to me. Such a beautiful memory 8..)

This is my favorite childhood movie ^_^ I'm lucky enough to have been able to find an old vhs a few years back and were able to watch it again. It's such a lovely movie, it's too bad it went under the radar.

Well, I have searched on Japanese websites and found one, VHS type, in Amazon Japan Prime. but the price was 15,000￥. I have to say it's quite expensive.

ELFIE was released in Janpan in 1986, which makes it difficult to get.

I suppose that It is also unlikly to find it on the internet, either.

However, It is only sold for exhibitions in a library and has got a very expensive price.

Truth is, I'm having a lot of trouble finding classics that meant a lot to me in my childhood.

Elfie of the blue sea is one of them but there are many others that aren't necessarily Japanese anime.

Like many old Russian animation classics, some were beautiful but now seem to have completely dissapeared from circulation, shadowed by Disney's marketing no doubt. *shrug* It really is a pity.

She dies from the laser blast she received when she tried to prevent the war. Before dying, her seashell necklace start glowing, allowing humans and mermaids to communicate with each others by telepathy.
