Hate to be the one bursting anyones bubble but this is staged and is part of a show called "In De Gloria". Erik Hartman is played by Tom Van Diyjk or something like that. Look the audience members aren't even laughing.
That being said this has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'd hate for someone to actually go through this in real life though.

No it's real. You can view another version that has him talking about the incident. He, along with the entire network, was later fired.
