@OnionKnight4124 These are scenes from the PS1 and DS versions of the game, the Chrono Trigger anime, was just a 4 part prequel story that didn't feature any of the main characters. In fact if you're really that curious, I'm sure you could find it on Youtube.

@metalhead00xx The anime clips are from the Playstation version (bad, horrid load times) and were included in the DS version (good standard game but the bonus content's rather lame. Good thing it's optional!). Basically before some events in the game a clip will play of it, then the game continues on with the event in the standard format.

Believe me, the load times are NOT exaggerated. It's five or six seconds each fight. I know that doesn't sound like much, but when you can easily go through two dozen fights in a half-hour's worth of gameplay, those 5 seconds add up, and it's really, REALLY trying on the patience meter....didn't keep me from playing/replaying it though!

@imtheonlysane1here That wasn't much to me, I lived with it. Besides which by the time it came out in the US we could play it on PS2 and double the PS1 disc speed, which helped. But that's all ancient history thanks to the DS version.

Chrono Trigger wasn't even released in Japan until 1995 so either one thing happened or one thing should happened. Square got the rights to use and modify the song, or what should happen is Rick Astley should sue square by your logic but I have no clue what has happened with this as it was many years ago and no one probably cares now. It has been over 15 years (barely) since Chrono Trigger's release.
