La lengua Española nunca va a morir aqui en los EE.UU...Viva la Hispanidad =)
Gosh it sounds just like the Punto Guajiro Cubano that I heard since a child. My grandparents were immigrants from the Canary Islands to Matanzas, Cuba. Indeed Matanzas was founded by our people. I remember eating gofio and other Canary food. Years ago they had a special on Lousiana Canarians and while a man sang his song, my mother joined in from our living room. It sent chills up my spine!! Vivan los islenos!! By the way, from DNA, I can trace Guanche blood on my dad's mother's side.
@MrCheohernandez Hola mi hermano, soy Canario de Luisiana, and I am "your" people even though you are from Cuba and I am from Louisiana, we have the blood of the Canarians in our veins. Cuban Isleños are actually tied to Louisiana Isleños because many of the old Louisiana Canarians had family members in Cuba and also, would make runs to Cuba to supply Louisiana with Rum until we started our own. So we are even more tied to each other than just having Canarian heritage. Amazing huh? Wow@history!
Tenemos hermanos en Luisiana, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Republica Dominica, y Uruguay! Soy un Isleño de Luisiana en San Bernardo. I am from the Gutierrez family. My family came from Tenerife, Canarias. Somos Tinerfeños, somos Canarios, somos Isleños. Arriba la cultura Canaria! This is a very good decima. Good work socio.
its about time i see some espanoles...especially isleno spaniards all u see lately is latinos or mexicans....the spaniard culture i think is needed in usa more bcuz they r like saying latinos only they r white europeans lol
I think your totally wrong, and besides: "latino" means italian, spanish, portuguese, and all the people whose language derives from latin, latin american is another thing, it´s the mixture between these linguistic groups and natives. Don´t be such a redneck, and latinos are not worse than european in any sense
@gagliano1842 Um you left out one of the major latin languages thats actually the closest to italian (lexically), french, The major latin languages are Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Sardinian, Catalan, Occitan, corsican..etc And their respective creoles, French creole, Luso-creole (portugal), Spanish creole
@gagliano1842 By the way, French people are "latinos" too ;) They speak a language coming from Latin. On the other hand, I think Italian or French contribution to Latin American nations is very small despite of large ammount of Italian immigrants in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Historically only Spain and Portugal ruled those territories and brought colonizers, religion, language and culture there.
Wow! Where the heck did you get your education? Spain is not a Latin American country nor is it in North Africa. Go find yourself a map and you will see it's a European country!!!
@Shoegazer3000 Actually, the Canary Islands are geographically off the coast of North Africa, but politcally belong to the peninsula of Spain which is in Europe. Canary Islanders are Spaniards who have some admixture from the Portuguese and North African Berbers. The Berbers were a Mediterranean people.much like Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians, Greeks, Southern French, Jews, and Arabs. The culture of the Canary Islands is like a mix of Spaniard, Latin American, North African and Portuguese.
