not to mention paper, cloth, rope, alternative milk (hemp milk as opposed to soy milk which is mostly farmed in south america and encourages the destruction of the rain forest to meet the demand). and you can smoke it and feel good and sociable like with alcohol and not be hung over the next day!
This woman is a better interviewer than most of the people on the national news networks. I love hearing Ron Paul actually get to explain his views. If everyone could hear him talk for one hour, he would win in the largest landslide ever.
Ron Paul is great, but the US didn't invade Iraq over oil. If you believe that, show me where the oil companies lobbied government to invade Iraq? Some lobbies did lobby gov't to invade Iraq however...focus on them because that's where the truth lies.
I think you're right... it would have been stupid for an oil company to invest in a recently-conquered land - who's going to guarantee your property right? The US Army? No, Iraq was invaded because that is what a State does - War is the Health of the State.
i think power over the oil played a part but i think lil' bush getting revenge for pop had more to do with it, and they almost did it again with iran, check out my other vids
Finally a question about energy. I like Paul and am supporting him, but would love if he would better articulate alternatives and energy savings in these interviews. More efficient engines, industrial Hemp for Ethanol, advanced electrolysis(Xogen/Meyer), coal to gasoline etc.
Government direction of alternative energy sources has proven disastrous. The ethanol fiasco was a short-term boon for corn farmers, but the prices of corn and wheat for food and feed sky-rocketed. Private companies are making great strides in new solar panel technologies. Big difference. If government would let nuclear power companies take responsibility for disposing of their waste, that would make a huge difference too.
industrial hemp is a great alternative, and with ron paul ending the war on drugs it could be fully explored, i think i have a speech where he talks about alternative energy, i'll see if i can find and post it
You missed the point: He does not need to articulate alternatives. The market (entrepreneurship, our purchase decisions, the spontaneous order of the market) can perfectly place alternatives for us to choose. We do not need, at all, a government to give us "alternatives".
Right, I agree about government not "giving us" alternatives. However I suspect that many people know the war is about oil, and thus consider it a neccessary evil(you know, so the "bad guys" don't control it). Mentioning (if not endorsing or subsidising) various viable alternatives would at least plant the idea in people's minds that it's possible to do pretty well if the M. East happens to want to cut off oil.
Agree. Excellent interview. I find it fascinating that a self-described liberal could posit good to-the-point questions, and allowed Dr. Paul to shine with every one. This woman is leagues ahead of the usual cable news hacks and charlatans (like Bill "I am right always" O'Rilley)
We buy oil from everyone else when we have so much of it right here in the USA. Eliminate the EPA along with the IRS, Federal Reserve, etc. We can build and operate refineries that are more environmentally friendly than these third world countries can.
that bitch is like, but our oil, don't we need to kill people for teh oil??!???? What about our energy?? Let the market decide? THAT'S CRAZY, the only logical answer is to kill people for it!
Yeah, and what about the multinationals? FFS man, the market will fuck you up! Better regulate the shit out of everything and steal everyone's money. Multinationals! ... Multinationals.
Yea you know Why?? Because Hes a Follower of god and hes against Illuminatis and the seeing eye of SHIT!! And the NWO that CBS and the known line up of the media that feed us Americans Nothing but CRAP AND LIES. Corprates dont like when people with popularity expose them for what they really are.
I really dont understand how anyone can not agree with Ron Paul or call him a loud mouth liberal, he seems to be the only candidate that cares about MY rights as an American citizen, the economic future of our country and the simple fact that it is not the right of the America Goverment to police the world. Has anyone here that is posting negatively about RP actually read the constitution?
Most of the people who disagree with Ron Paul are not aware of what's at stake such as our civil rights. Just yesterday I was explaining to a family member what the Patriot Act was, and what the Bill of Rights states. They had not a clue, and were very shocked at what I told them.
"The market" is just another term for freedom. We Americans are so brain-washed to believe that market-place evil comes from lack of government control & regulation! Baloney.
Government participation in the marketplace ALWAYS benefits the powerful (corporations) at the expense of the weak (individuals). That is how our modern American fascist (corporate-state) system came into being.
Lodestar77..Im Hoping that You and I are not the only ones who can see through these EVIL CORPRATE-STATE who FEED off of the weak...Heck why do you think they dont control Imigration?? Corprates make BIG off this. I can get into details but people who know understand what the deal is.
denny1641... Fascism is an economic partnership between big corp and big gov. THAT is why gov. regulation NEVER works to the benefit of the citizens. Only true market FREEDOM where large corporations are NOT given special privileges (in the name of "protecting" the people) benefits the citizens. Ron Paul is right.
People were made to be free. Freedom will not create a perfect world. Just the best possible world. Freedom is the solution to the human condition. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who understands this. ALL the others tell you that if you give them power(that is, give up your power/freedom) they will fix all life's problems for you. Which makes them either fools or power hungry liars. teaparty07 . com
Is there a federal policy for technology, cell phones, tv, computers, etc? No the market works by itself. There is regulation which is meant to protect consumers.
Why not just have regulations on oil in order to protect consumers and let the market work?
The market is so powerful that when goverment steps in and blocks it in some form, a "black" market develops by itself. <=== You gotta think about this.
He is the only one out there who is offering any solutions, who is offering a way forward, and who is putting the people at the centre (rather than big business or guns). Why can't people see that he is the only one worthy of your vote. The vote is a precious thing, people have died fighting for it. Don't waste it on a the crass, the cowardly or liars, vote for RON PAUL instead!
He DOES know what he's talking about. He's asking ALL individuals, states and businesses to take responsibilities for their actions but to allow Americans to make the choices we need to. If I or anyone doesn't like something, find others who feel the same, spread the message and take action. Beauty of America. ^_^
When the US government stops subsidizing Big Oil and the MIC by commiting war on other countries for them, paid by our blood and money, the market will change for the better. There is no shortage!
One thing that has been proved time and again is that you cannot legislate a free market. If you try, the market inflates and then implodes. Ron Paul is right. Leave the energy market alone and it will sort itself out. We'll be driving electric cars in 10 years - they're cleaner, easier to maintain and will be cheaper when the market is allowed to develop.
In case people didn't catch it, this woman is quite sinister in her reasoning. That America's energy needs somehow justifies bombing and killing others.
Paul politely argues against the effectiveness of her rationale. I would have pointed out the sickness in her thinking.
the problem with energy technology not growing is because oil companies bye people that develop these technologies out and sit on the technology, the one may who may have turned the tide is now dead...he died right before he was going to go into production his name was Stan Meyer. he ran a buggy of water and i think he went cross country on i think under a gallon of water...or something like that, look it up.
America needs to cut its addiction to oil. The free market will gladly research and develop energy from sources other than natural ones. The first cars made were electric. there are cars in Taiwan that run on water. when you take the government out of energy, the free market will develop and grow new technology that's much more efficient. the only way to beat oil, is to give them competition.
As long as we can keep big oil from suppressing alternative energy ideas and from killing off anyone who stands in their way. Competition is there it just needs to be developed not squashed.
I agree. We need to be the leader in alternative energy sources! A Ron Paul presidency would make that possible.
Look up water powered cars on google and see for yourself. The current administration and the dept. of energy don't want this to happen. But it would save this planet.
god i hope he becomes president!!! and we should be looking into hydrogen energy, 1 gallon of water turned into hydrogen and oxygen can produce the energy ok 1.2 million barrels of oil!
I hear ya! Why is it that on every frontier of technology we surpass ourselves, but generating energy stays behind, this goes for storage of energy aswell. Too much power is wheilded by government with oil.
I'm happy to see so many people dreaming the good dreams.

to "special interest" by major corporations.
When anybody hits the nail on the head about

alloting them their due treatment.Which in
turn serves to make things appear as though
that individual is just your typical idealist.
