Finally a question about energy. I like Paul and am supporting him, but would love if he would better articulate alternatives and energy savings in these interviews. More efficient engines, industrial Hemp for Ethanol, advanced electrolysis(Xogen/Meyer), coal to gasoline etc.

Government direction of alternative energy sources has proven disastrous. The ethanol fiasco was a short-term boon for corn farmers, but the prices of corn and wheat for food and feed sky-rocketed. Private companies are making great strides in new solar panel technologies. Big difference. If government would let nuclear power companies take responsibility for disposing of their waste, that would make a huge difference too.

However I suspect that many people know the war is about oil, and thus consider it a neccessary evil(you know, so the "bad guys" don't control it). Mentioning (if not endorsing or subsidising) various viable alternatives would at least plant the idea in people's minds that it's possible to do pretty well if the M. East happens to want to cut off oil.
