SEE some paintballlers might seem as serious as airsofters and weapons can look or shoot as good too. I think they are almost the same. Airsoft might even seem a little better to me

well some indoor arena have ref's. I know one in my area does. Kinda cool, although it must be AWESOME playing outside airsoft. But hey, I'm not ready for that, I'll stick to the backyard shoot outs xD

@HelghanEmpire doing this was moderate in difficulty. I will say that I'm tired of the ignorence and bullshit about wich one is better. We both have to deal with the professional parents (crazy socer moms) that have issues with both because we shoot guns.

ok so paintball actually has tournaments.... airsoft doesnt. airsoft is actually considered not a sport....paintball is. people say o yea but air soft has real looking guns....u can get paintball guns as real as you want them even with no hopper they do feed from the clip. the biggest thing about airsoft is that everyone is on the honor system which means if both sides wanted to win nobody would go out unless a ref saw it or it was point blank and the person made it known they had been shot. Everybody goes in different positions and in different spots that have already been determined like an offense for basketball. Then back players off the break are laning and keep laning in certain spots that the either they have studied the team enough to were the think they know where there going or cover for front and mid players. next comment

for me, what gives airsoft the edge on looks is how there are alot of different gun types and the guns look more real cuz u dont need that giant paintbal holding thing on the top of ur gun.

Airsoft or paint ball but i hate when i want to play airsoft there is allways paintball i can only have 1 airsoft game every 2 months this place charges 20$ per person and they get a minumim of 64 airsoft players every time thats a lot of money but they have less paintball players and they only have airsoft 1s every 2 months just cause he likes paint ball more

I personally play airsoft myself, the only way I can say airsoft could ever be better is the cooler looking guns,and that you can play anywhere almost. Paintball is not for the week,its bad ass. I'm leaving airsoft and picking up paintball myself actually,I got my first paint ball gun today,nothing special,just to get the feel of it,then I will upgrade!

Paintball, because of the sheer weight of equipment, coupled with regular maintenance involved in operating paintball markers, noise and messy projectiles, is closer to the real harsh realities of operating and maintaining mechanical equipment in warfare.
Airsoft is good for weapons training
Paintball is better for warfare, endurance training, though it is expensive.
Airsoft is good for training indoor, high speed adrenaline cqb, sniper target practice, weapons familiarisation, war games etc
Paintball is better for tougher terrain, bcos the paintball kits are heavy/bulky, while the ammo is messy, expensive, painful. Paintball with powderballs are good for outdoor rough terrain, where the player has to get used to heavy equipment (hpa tanks) in ruck sacks with limited ammo.
ahem,u even glanced at an airball field/paintball marker you would know that not all paintball players are living some military fantasy unlike airsoft... only the senarioballers and sometimes woodsballers try to go for realism

In airsoft, if you're using layers of clothing, you wouldn't know if you got shot. They could have made the paintball solid rubber but, 1: it'd hurt like a mofo and 2: You still couldn't see if you got hit or not. Besides, there are paintball guns that shoot mags. The Tiberius shoots First Strike rounds in a magazine.

I play both airsoft and paintball, paintball more often but I play higher end airsoft when I play it. And I have to say, anyone who thinks a paintball hurts more has not played much serious airsoft. It's the sheer fact that a smaller projectile moving faster will exert more force on a smaller area than the opposite. I have scars from bad run-ins with some legit airsoft AEGs. @Robot0Ninja right back at you, have you ever taken into account all the variables? sure a pantball carries more energy but, Pressure = force / area. an airsoft bb exerts way more pressure which is really is what makes getting hit painfull. Also, a paintball BREAKS, losing momentum and only allowing a certain amount of energy to be transferred, where as an airsoft bb transfers all its momentum into a target.

Here in Canada paintball is the clear-ass choice. From a decent airsoft site in say, Alberta, you can get a black, metal AEG for like, $500. Freaking expensive. AND it's easier to get metal black paintball guns because THAT'S BASICALLY WHAT EVERY PB GUN IS. also the laws are extremely strict about replica firearms, but PB is fine because there's a hopper and a CO2/HPA tank. So yeah.

That airsoft... that's not serious...iv'e been to games where the people have rockets on their backs snipers, some people even chose to paratroop out of planes into the battle ground..and then there's the tanks, jeeps, boats motors.. it's crazy... in those games i tend to get run round half the field tying bandages to the people who have been hit... @airsark The only reason they use paintball guns is because it leaves marks, and they have recently started to use airsoft guns since their are now marker bb's.
I think paintball is better. There both forms of tag, but in paintball you feel when your hit + theres paint on you for everybody to see, when in airsoft you need to be naked to feel it.
Paintball is taken more seriously, the guns are better made, there are more regulationes, its a pro sport, and people dont run arround being dumbasses because they know they will get hurt.

this is how i see it, paintball and arisoft are basically the same sport. Some people just prefer one over the other. Why can't people get along? Airsoft and Mil-Sim paintball are the same exact thing. Yes, I do agree that the kick is a lot more realistic but me personally, well I prefer airsoft. Paintball is still a great extreme sport. They are the same thing but with different guns.

@meany1023 then there is so much communication between the the players that all u can hear is people screaming. then front players and mid players take or try to take certain spots on the field from there 1st spot. then in all that they have to be fast, agile, and alert on everything going on. also they have to be able to snap shoot, avoid tunnel vision and and be able to hit what they shoot at. so yea no tactics at all

I personally play airsoft myself, the only way I can say airsoft could ever be better is the cooler looking guns,and that you can play anywhere almost. Paintball is not for the week,its bad ass. I'm leaving airsoft and picking up paintball myself actually,I got my first paint ball gun today,nothing special,just to get the feel of it,then I will upgrade!

Paintball is better for tougher terrain, bcos the paintball kits are heavy/bulky, while the ammo is messy, expensive, painful. Paintball with powderballs are good for outdoor rough terrain, where the player has to get used to heavy equipment (hpa tanks) in ruck sacks with limited ammo.

In airsoft, if you're using layers of clothing, you wouldn't know if you got shot. They could have made the paintball solid rubber but, 1: it'd hurt like a mofo and 2: You still couldn't see if you got hit or not. Besides, there are paintball guns that shoot mags. The Tiberius shoots First Strike rounds in a magazine.

I play both airsoft and paintball, paintball more often but I play higher end airsoft when I play it. And I have to say, anyone who thinks a paintball hurts more has not played much serious airsoft. It's the sheer fact that a smaller projectile moving faster will exert more force on a smaller area than the opposite. I have scars from bad run-ins with some legit airsoft AEGs. @Robot0Ninja right back at you, have you ever taken into account all the variables? sure a pantball carries more energy but, Pressure = force / area. an airsoft bb exerts way more pressure which is really is what makes getting hit painfull. Also, a paintball BREAKS, losing momentum and only allowing a certain amount of energy to be transferred, where as an airsoft bb transfers all its momentum into a target.

Here in Canada paintball is the clear-ass choice. From a decent airsoft site in say, Alberta, you can get a black, metal AEG for like, $500. Freaking expensive. AND it's easier to get metal black paintball guns because THAT'S BASICALLY WHAT EVERY PB GUN IS. also the laws are extremely strict about replica firearms, but PB is fine because there's a hopper and a CO2/HPA tank. So yeah.

there was a battle the other day at a local club Airsoft guns vs Paintball markers.
the guys with airsoft guns won because they had better range on their guns and the paintball guys didn't know where they where getting shot from any way the paintball guys got raped. I got a realistic looking rap4 t68 m4.looks and feels good(google it).trust me I know...usmc vet.... now airsoft guns make this little faggot noise compared to my ear ringing m4... paintballs hurt like hell especially them first strike rounds... by the way first strike can hit a target @ 100 meters with a quarter of an inch adjustment at only 280 fps compared to airsofts 350 fps...just like the real thing except closer...basic shooting...
