honestly these guys are like the beatles in a way, they sound no different in recorded and edited song, then they do live, and they write songs aboutt lifee
um, the reason no one is jumping around to the cave is because mumford and sons is not a concert / act where you should be talking, singing or jumping around at all. when they grace the stage everyone should shut the hell up and watch/listen/enjoy/and stand in awe of how great they are. that shit ruins concerts like this.
I am so excited to see them play in Dallas in November... seems way to far away!! It'd be awesome if more people knew about them. They are wonderful! I think they should tour with Elephant Revival

Mumford and sons bringing folk back like its nobody's business. The most honest, raw and enjoyable music I have probably ever heard. Banjolin song is wicked, electric banjo's own face. Come play at the Algoqnuin Theatre.
Nothing, absolutely nothing compares to this band, every single one of their song's give me goosebumps... it's undescribably how catchy and mindblowing they actually are!
Can someone please tell me how in the hell people are not jumping off the walls to "The Cave?" Hardly anyone is even moving, let alone dancing!!! The emotion in the song, especially towards the end is unbelievable! LOVE THESE GUYS! May 25th in Minneapolis cannot come soon enough!
This is March 2009! Both The Cave and But My Heart Told My Head (aka Winter Winds) were new and unreleased songs. The 'leaping about' songs at this gig were Little Lion Man, Roll Away Your Stone and (the recently neglected) Feel The Tide. Yeah! Let's have Feel The Tide back in set please guys!
@nphillips1982 dude they are English they dont get down like us American crowds do ;D they just wave flags and shit or sometimes have moshes but at shows like this they just watch the music and applaud at the end, dif cultuer
@nphillips1982 I know! its crazy that no one is moving We just saw them last saturday in toronto and the whole crown went nuts for this song it's amazing! It must be a brittish thing
@haleyv8 'It must be a brittish (sic) thing'! lol No. It's a 'this was nearly 2 years ago and the songs hadn't been released yet' thing. How many of the people complaining about the crowd in this video can honestly say that they had even heard of Mumford and Sons in March 2009? If you want to see a British Mumford crowd in action check out my recent video of Little Lion Man & Sister at the Hammersmith Apollo. But, hey, thanks for watching anyway!
@SeeGigFilmGigPost So people only get excited about songs that are already famous and react as they think they're supposed to as opposed to reacting to a song they enjoy?
@LoneRanger19 In answer to the first part of your question I would say, that depends upon how you define 'get excited'. All the 'new songs' played at this gig (i.e. most of Sigh No More) were rapturously received - at the end of the song! Without doubt, audiences do not tend to (as nphilips1982 puts it) 'jump off the walls' to a song that they have never heard before - no matter how famous that song later becomes, or how epic it is now perceived to be.
@LoneRanger19 In answer to the second part of your question I would feel confident in saying that, not one person at this legendary gig was reacting "as they think they're supposed to". The audience reaction at this show was, largely, one of watching the band in awestruck silence, listening to the songs, rather than singing along to every word (radical idea, I know!) and then showing their appreciation at the end of the song! An entirely appropriate reaction I might suggest!
I totally agree, but I think he has a HUGE voice. Really projects well, but I hope they never play arena tours or anything like that, it just wouldn't be the same.
I'm really happy that folk is actually being played on mainstream radio. Kate Rusby was played nonstop on the radio last year, and she's still a folk singer. It's getting more people into folk, and keeping it alive.
what a band. heard this song i had to listen to the rest of their stuff :O SOME OF ITS EVEN BETTER :O will deffinetly be looking forward to stuff from these guys.
I don't want them to become the next big thing, even though they deserve the recognition we all know what happens when everyone likes something like a band. "Mainstream"
Insane talent the blokes have, based on viewings of other songs they all play multiple instruments as need demands. Enthusiastic and heartfelt performances, whether live or on video clips! You can see the effort they make on their faces, vocals and instrumentals alike are outstanding. SUPERB GROUP!
Especially when you consider that Marcus was really ill with a high temperature and they nearly cancelled this show (the following night's Banquet/New Slang shows were pulled). Amazing band. I can't wait for the album!
