  • Because the hood is not centered exactly in the breech face. If you think of it as a 360 degree circle it is a few degrees around past say 90. It vary s from gun to gun. It was done for years with a file but not with the accuracy it can be done in a mill. I can end up with less than .0005" gap doing it with my fixture. I hope this is the answer you were looking for?

  • Why don't you just take all .006 off the right side? Why bother doing .005 off one side and .001 off the other? Can I do this with hand tools?

  • cool barrel !! sure beats the addednt lengthe and sight interfetence of a compensator. I would use a file but i dont have that fancy equipment !

  • Seems kinda funny that you are taking such painstaking efforts to get accurate measurements with your layout tools only to introduce tram error when you are machining. I'm sure that when you are not having to film you can do all the machining faster, but filing still comes pretty close and you can't beat it's precision.

    Neat fixture concept, though.

  • awesome video thanks for sharing!
