Why does everyone have to bash the singing? It's the message it sends that you are missing. He's not trying to sing superbly nor is he trying to impress anyone with his singing ability. He's displaying the message he wants to get across in this song the way he wants to.

He doesn't make his music to please the majority, he makes his music to inspire and awe those who understand and feel it.

He leaves the interpretations to you, and if that is how you choose to interpret it, you've missed out.

There is no contradiction in explaining the purpose of the words spoken, then going on to say that the interpretation comes from you, nor does a contradiction exist when stating that if one does not understand the true nature of the message or adds a negative connotation to it, they've missed out.
