think of oedipal as a reframe of the antagonism between father and son for resources. I think that Betrand russel said that inheritance was the origins of manners. Oedipal says, No, it's not about resources, you really still want your mommy. It's also doubly confused when the terra (the land-- source of resources) is also thought of as "mother." As the anchors collapse, you can begin to feel its almost more like a ride...........
