Another addition you get when playing New Game+ is that all the dialogue with Rachel is altered and Kyle is far friendlier towards her, in the end regretting he didn't ask her to join him for his vacation.
For the secret ending, you are supposed to wake up Mila by closing your DS, and not get a single game over(Don't worry, you are just not supposed to touch the RETRY button, and you can load your save file instead). It unlocks Jenny ending.
I've heard rumors that you need to play this game to the end without losing once, and get Mila's present to unlock the secret ending where Jenny comes back. I didn't do either, yet I got this ending because at the very end of the game, when you say goodbye to everybody, go to the rooftop (it's unlocked) and say goodbye to Iris. Lots of people forget to do this, and they don't get this ending.

@wes4456 no, this happened to me too, but with all my save files, you have to start over, you should save the file on your computer every time you play

I'm playing it right now, and it's really.....disappointing. The story is great, but they changed Kyle way too much. Gone is the gruffness and the sarcastic, sometimes mean sense of humor. I enjoyed the first few hours of it, but now the dialogue just seems so bland compared to the original. I wish Nintendo of America would have translated Last Window, because at least they would have inject some much-needed into the game.

Mila is 19... I believe Kyle is in his early 30's. He was a police officer for 10 years, wasn't he? The game leaves it up in the air as to whether their relationship will be a romantic one.

@KanpekiJan yeah I was thinking Kyle has a thing for Rachel anyway and it is likely Mila sees him as sort of a father figure, maybe a slight crush but I think in the end Mila gets a new mom and dad out of the deal. Like you said mentally she's just nine years old.
Great game. i just beat it for the first time. i got the ending where mila goes with you. as soon as Kyle woke up i went to the resturant , but it was closed. I thought "Damn rosa! you welched on that omlett you promised." i thought that after i checked out rosa whould ask kyle to stay for the omlette. Kyle never got the omlette she promised him.
This game is so freaking awesome everytime i play it is like remined me of my young times but u know i have play it like 30times cause i love it if u want another good game i really recomends PROFFESOR LAYTON 1 AND 2

I got the extra scene @ the end, with Jenny's whole face. That shocked me when I saw it like the second time I played it. It was only part of her face the second time I ended the game. The one thing I don't understand. Where does Mila's Treasure (which I just did) come into the story, or is it not meant to?

My first (and so far only) complete playthrough of the game, I got Mila coming with Hyde and the ending where Jenny is only shown from the nose down. But she does have a cute-looking face~
Probably not the most underrated, but one of the most underrated, definitely.
If they were to do a sequel, they'd be doing well concentrating on Nile, as Nile was only really a MacGuffin (object that serves only to further the plot) in this.
Damn, I really enjoyed watching Kyle eat his steak and chiffon cake, bit disappointed when he didn't have a chance to eat that omelet Rosa was offering him earlier :(
Thanks for uploading this, I only just finished my first time playing it today. However, while everyone's accounted for, it never really gave closure on Melissa's mom. She convinced Dunning to paint a fake picture for her to make money off of. But where did she go? Do we assume she's dead? Why did she want her sister to take the tape to Dunning? Where did she get the tape? Did she use it to blackmail Dunning the first time around? If so, why did she want her sister to take it back to him?
I think the reason that all of those questions didn't get answered is that it would have been pretty unbelievable to have everybody from Melissa's mom to Alan the author walk in at the end. Even though we all would have loved to see their happy endings, it would have been pretty hard to swallow. What we got from this story was that Kyle Hyde finally got some closure, and in the process, helped out everyone else in the process, which will result in happy endings down the road.
For some reason they decided to make all girls look a little "animeish" (besides Rosa) and the man are more "American". Iris, Mia, Melissa's mom (and Melissa after she grow up too) are real pretty!
Not spreading rumors, and it's been sometime since I've heard about this, so I can't even remember which website otherwise I would say it, but I DO remember some interview or other where it was talked about. Been so long I can't think of it. ARGH! However, I respectfully disagree that their can't be a sequel. What we learned in the first game was that Nile is a big crime ring that crosses paths with a lot of people's lives. In the sequel Kyle could be trying to take them down.
One of my favorite games on the DS next to the Phoenix Wright trilogy. Loved every minute playing it on my first, second, and recently, my third playthrough.
Wasn't aware they showed Jenny's face after playing it through a second time without making mistakes.
I'm soooo stupid! I beat the game for the second time, just a few minutes ago. Then that text thing came, and I thought the game was starting over... But it was Jenny returning! I'm so dumbass.... Well, now I have a excuse to beat it a third time.... =P
God im well annoyed, i decided to play Hotel Dusk for the second time and to get the bonus stuff you need to start a new game but on the same file. I saved my game on a different file (file 2) geez that was before i knew about the bonus stuff and im already 2/3 through the game!
Man, it's so hard to believe this game was made in Japan. It's so quintessentially American in so many ways. The art style (although having some anime influences), the pacing, the dialogue, the attitudes.
I could care less about Mila actually, its the deal with Bradley that bugs me.
Hyde spends the whole game yiffing about how he'll find his lover Bradely and bring him to the light, but then he never actually does. It takes a five year old (?) letter to tell him to friggin give it up.
And why did Bradley really need Hyde to find the Cecily Lee Magazine...?
Unless it is hinting at a sequel where Bradley and Grace are partners?
Bradley betrayed Kyle. they trusted each other with thier lives on the force. Kyle was upset at what his friend did. Nothing gay about it. Kyle thought he could find bradley and get him to give the error of his ways. the items were just to get kyle to the hotel. the magazine had no real importance. it was the letter Bradley wanted Kyle to have. the letter the box was the real item. but bradley told Ed he did not want the items. so basicly they are for Kyle. the items were for kyle.
I specially liked the party of the ending where with Hyde and Louie. It was the first time in the whole game that Hyde actually says something nice to him without sarcarsm.
I just finished the game today. I did not get that ending however, probably because I got one game over. But its one of my favorite games for the DS. Great video. Thanks for posting.

You have to do a soft-reset (Start+Select+L+R), or just turn off your DS.

Probably not the most underrated, but one of the most underrated, definitely.
If they were to do a sequel, they'd be doing well concentrating on Nile, as Nile was only really a MacGuffin (object that serves only to further the plot) in this.

Thanks for uploading this, I only just finished my first time playing it today. However, while everyone's accounted for, it never really gave closure on Melissa's mom. She convinced Dunning to paint a fake picture for her to make money off of. But where did she go? Do we assume she's dead? Why did she want her sister to take the tape to Dunning? Where did she get the tape? Did she use it to blackmail Dunning the first time around? If so, why did she want her sister to take it back to him?

I think the reason that all of those questions didn't get answered is that it would have been pretty unbelievable to have everybody from Melissa's mom to Alan the author walk in at the end. Even though we all would have loved to see their happy endings, it would have been pretty hard to swallow. What we got from this story was that Kyle Hyde finally got some closure, and in the process, helped out everyone else in the process, which will result in happy endings down the road.

For some reason they decided to make all girls look a little "animeish" (besides Rosa) and the man are more "American". Iris, Mia, Melissa's mom (and Melissa after she grow up too) are real pretty!
BTW, I love rotoscoping cartoons.

Not spreading rumors, and it's been sometime since I've heard about this, so I can't even remember which website otherwise I would say it, but I DO remember some interview or other where it was talked about. Been so long I can't think of it. ARGH! However, I respectfully disagree that their can't be a sequel. What we learned in the first game was that Nile is a big crime ring that crosses paths with a lot of people's lives. In the sequel Kyle could be trying to take them down.

One of my favorite games on the DS next to the Phoenix Wright trilogy. Loved every minute playing it on my first, second, and recently, my third playthrough.
Wasn't aware they showed Jenny's face after playing it through a second time without making mistakes.
Also, can't get over how funny Kyle's smirk is.

God im well annoyed, i decided to play Hotel Dusk for the second time and to get the bonus stuff you need to start a new game but on the same file. I saved my game on a different file (file 2) geez that was before i knew about the bonus stuff and im already 2/3 through the game!

Man, it's so hard to believe this game was made in Japan. It's so quintessentially American in so many ways. The art style (although having some anime influences), the pacing, the dialogue, the attitudes.

I could care less about Mila actually, its the deal with Bradley that bugs me.
Hyde spends the whole game yiffing about how he'll find his lover Bradely and bring him to the light, but then he never actually does. It takes a five year old (?) letter to tell him to friggin give it up.
And why did Bradley really need Hyde to find the Cecily Lee Magazine...?
Unless it is hinting at a sequel where Bradley and Grace are partners?

Bradley betrayed Kyle. they trusted each other with thier lives on the force. Kyle was upset at what his friend did. Nothing gay about it. Kyle thought he could find bradley and get him to give the error of his ways. the items were just to get kyle to the hotel. the magazine had no real importance. it was the letter Bradley wanted Kyle to have. the letter the box was the real item. but bradley told Ed he did not want the items. so basicly they are for Kyle. the items were for kyle.

I specially liked the party of the ending where with Hyde and Louie. It was the first time in the whole game that Hyde actually says something nice to him without sarcarsm.
