I've always viewed Faith as a confunsed child w/in the body of a full grown killer, who was unloved by the world. Her destiny put a lot of pressure on her to grow up early, but she couldn't handle it. That, plus she always felt "out of the loop" with the Scoobies, and the world. So she copes by turning over to the dark side with her love of death, partying, and sex. But eventually, she matures as the world around her gets too evil even for her to handle, and her morals kick in.
