@vxXsM0kEXxv bridgeport is a stupid method of cutting a big hole between the ports and it's long and looks like a bridge. it's stupid because it weekens your ports and eventually they will crack after about 90,000 miles.
im getting everything from racing beat for my exhaust except those mufflers, i want true dual but i think those mufflers are hideous so im just getting HKS universal mufflers instead
@iniallator94 Well, something to consider in this situation is that the true dual setup is very, very different from the regular cat-back Racing Beat sells. If you go that route, you WILL need to have the HKS mufflers cut and welded to fit.
could you give me a ball park figure for what you paid for this true dual? i'm at the website right now and looking at it, looks pretty good to me. Before learning about this I had my eyes on the apexi gt-spec, obviously the racing beat is better because it includes headers and the back pressure is better since it's true dual, thanks
@thash1127 - I paid whatever the price is listed on the site. Choosing between the Apex'i and Racing Beat is easy - Go for the RB if you want a quiet ride when just cruising, but still able to really bark when you get into it. Go Apex'i if you want a super loud obscene car, constantly :)
@adrock3217 i know apexi is cat back only but if you add a high flow cat and headers to that list and compare it to racing beat, which one provides more horsepower? thats all i care about, speed. i want to reach the end of my speedometer which of course is 160. i want to get the best exhaust system, stage 2 porting and maybe new injectors, and if thats not enough, ill go super charger, thanks for your opinion!
@thash1127 just adding power will not give you a higher top speed. you have to do 1 of 3 things to get that. 1) higher engine rpm 2) different gearing in the transmission 3) different gearing in the diff.
@drphyco500 okay, i know about gearing and have thought about a turbo ii trans on my 91 coupe but idk how hard it would be to make the conversion. but i never knew a differential could affect top speed, my car has an open (the rear wheels spinning in opposite directions) and sometime in the future i would like to get a kaaz limited slip but never knew it would benefit on the high end.
It's not just "true dual mufflers." It's literally a seperate pipe running from each exhaust port, to the muffler. The two pipes never merge, hence, true dual.
both gxl and gtu have l.s.d.'s the only cars that came with open ends were base models and SE's....and really? better handling...so what exactly did they do different?......try nothing
The only RX7s that came with LSDs stock were 86-87 GXL, 88 GTU, 89-90 GTUs (NOT GTU), and the TIIs. 89-91 came with a VLSD, 86-88 came with a clutch. The 88 GXL was a replacement for the discontinued sport edition from 86-87.
Uhh, yeah, except for the fact that running rich has nothing to do with burning (smoking? rofl) oil. And no, that wasn't oil, or fuel, it was condensation in the exhaust.
Matt921 -- If you are looking to buy a set of S5 lights..I have 2 sets. The ones pictured in the video, which has a very very small crack in the bottom corner (unnoticeable when installed), and a set that has the liner inside removed. Makes them nice and modern looking.
ahhhh the fast idle hahaha nice man love the koki's i need to get them for mine i like your exhaust it has a very consistant tone to it mines real deep an pops but its ROTARY lol
@TeamMurderedout According to Racing Beat they are two separate pipes going into and coming out of the presilencer. And mine sure looked like it.

@rayvdub You need to get a cat and cross your fingers. Lean out your a/f ratios, etc.

Whats a GTU model? :S
thanislankan 2 years ago
Basically a turbo model without the turbo.
venom3114 2 years ago
Worse than a GTUs which was FTW with the N/A models.
RotorDemon 2 years ago
This is an s4 GTU, much different than an s5 GTU. The s4 GTU came with an LSD like the GXL without all the additional weight of the GXL.
jasonabsence 2 years ago
The "GTU" and the "GTUs" were different models.

gxl's are from 86-87 ,gtu's are 88-90. both are similar but the gtu is a better model because it has l.s.d. and better handling
