Blacks fought for the south because they had been brain washed by propaganda that life in the north would be even worse for them. They always portrayed the slaves as being carefree happy and lazy.

@cartergirl3of3 Did you know one-tenth of Confederate soldiers were black, and in reading some of Confederate general Stonewall Jackson's letters to his wife, the relations between whites and blacks were very similar to this movie.

My dad sang this to me when I was a little kid. Only because it was the only thing that was easy for him to sing. It's eerie, since this is the EXACT video we had of this song, intro and all. I miss my innocent days

Why do people want to try and change history?Why do so many black people hate the portrayal of Uncle Remus,white people loved Uncle Remus and not because we felt superiority over him,he was a very endearing man.White people were also portrayed as they actually were,some poor,some bad,some good,some rich, ect.We need to just accept how things used to be instead of trying to erase our heritage with all this revisionist history.
