You are singing the song to high, try using a capo instead. Cause the tones you play and sing, does not fitt well, when you're singing it at that tone.

in the video he is playin it in D but it must be tuned down cos if u strum along to the song in CD it is def in C

I don't know whether you were deliberately playing it slower but I think if you played it a bit faster like the original it would sound better. Also the middle bit between 2.06 - 2.18 had more melody in it. You had cut that out and were just playing one chord. I think you should record another version more similar to Fleetwood Mac's version - a bit more upbeat and with the melody put back in the middle bit, then see what people prefer.
