  • perfect song, perfect promo video, sometimes i need to watch this five times in a row! :-)

  • awesome!!!!!!!

one of the best truly love songs around the globe

    satanic heaven

  • one of the most underrated pop-songs of all time. i will never forget their show in london in 1999... such a magical night!

  • Best female vocalist in my book...

  • beautiful song

  • i hope debsey and birdie has more albums in them, this is just a gorgeous song

  • NO WAY! I was revisiting some old favorites (ahem, Papas Fritas), and this came up as a suggestion. I never thought I'd see a Birdie music video on here. THANK YOU! If you happen to have Sidewalk or One to Five, kindly post it, too :)

  • I really love this song! I even e-mailed one of the band members (Paul?) a few years back to tell him what a great band he was in. Are they still around, I wonder? I have the CD this song came from, and the other tracks are excellent as well.

  • perfection

  • Absolute classic.

  • Absolutely brilliant. Not heard from Alan or Debsey for over 15 years. Great track Bill Video.

  • Don't miss Dolly Mixture too.

  • @tuskedbeast Aye Dolly Mixture i remember Debsey and her mates doing backing vocals for the captain on happy talk think he alienated most of his die hard Damned fanbase {the stupid ones anyway} on that one you just had to laugh and this is brilliant too...check out East Village they furrow a similar pop vein

  • pedrovilar - there is no justice. The radio jams our ears with mediocre sh*t and bands like this suffer the consequences of, hence we have to look harder than we should have to for music worthy of our ears. East Village and Birdie are those that I should never have missed first time around, just catching up and it turns out I'm too late. There's no justice.

  • dont feel so bad.... it happened to us all. i missed east village but not birdie. they did a show in new york...... i would have gone but i live in the west coast. :)

  • yo escuchaba esta rola en mis tiempos de pirujo!

  • Awesome song!!!!

  • ♥_♥ mrmmm...

  • sorry, have to comment again, this song is so effing good it hurts, thanxxx man for the upload

  • lovely voice & tune

  • excellent song and video, should be Nb 1 in a perfect world!

  • Oops - typo. Singer is Debsey Wykes .

  • The singer is Debsey Wylkes. She was backing singer on Saints Etienne's "Who do you think you are?".

  • Nice song, great video!

  • this song is a g¡hidden gem, i love it. many thanks for posting the video.

at the time when this song came out, i heard on the radio a live version of this song, which was a little faster.

i wonder if this band has released any more albums since then...

  • my comment has a couple of typos, youtube should allow to edit the comments... :(

  • They did release one more album - I have a copy of a CD called "Triple Echo" which was issued by It Records in 2001. I've no idea if they're still going, but I'd have thought not!

  • Nice song, nice video... I met Paul Kelly, September, last year, and he told me they had given up because the no one was going to their gigs... What a shame!

  • There are actually THREE Birdie albums. Some Dusty, Reverb Deluxe and Triple Echo. All are worth seeking out. I hope they make more Birdie music too, as these three records get played a lot at my house.
