This is brilliant. I've tried going vegan before (and failed), but almost as more of a fashion statement. Now I know the truth, and I want to go vegan because it's good for the animals and good for ME. I really have no desire to consume animal products anymore.

I criticize the wars with the little power I have. Science has already proven that plants do not have feelings. But, lets pretend they had feelings, a vegan diet would still be better since a omnivorous diet requires more plants to be "killed", I've read up to 10-20 times more plants than a vegan diet. Lets not forget the billions of animals being killed every year for an omnivorous diet.
To your first point, no one is infringing upon your "right" to eat whatever shitty food you want. IIRC, the speaker even explicitly stated as much in the first few minutes of his lecture. His intention was to bring to your attention the costs and conditions required to satisfy your appetite.
@Dave1507 To your second point, it's absolutely ludicrous to draw any sort of equivalency between a military conflict and a person's diet. Do we each have direct control over our govt's actions? Certainly not. We do, however, have control over our diet. Whether or not you exert that control is up to you.
As an aside, I don't support any of our wars, but even if I did, my own hypocrisy wouldn't excuse YOUR actions. Is it sound when a murderer says, "Well, at least I'm not Hitler." ?
