  • it fucked my brain

  • 90 or 120? IM confused because i have 6789 pieces of origami paper with NOTHING to do so i need to learn,.,,,,,,......................

  • loved it!!!!

  • how big are the pieces of paper at the start?

  • I did it ;)

this one with 20x 6 ring and 12x 5 rings

  • how big r the small ones

  • almost 2 and half hours to make one of 30 for the first time :D i think it's great!!

  • "It may look fragile but the links are quite strong"

Quick note: They're not strong enough to handle dogs, bunnies, sisters or other animals that the ball might encounter ;P

  • I made this from gold foil and gave it to my chemistry teacher. I think it looks better with only one color unless you know how to pattern the colors correctly, which I don't.

  • Is there any logic in the colors? Mine is blue, red and white. I tried to keep the same color pattern in each 5 or 6 ring but it doesn't seem to work. Anyway it's great. I already fold dozen of balls from your videos and I use them to decorate the whole house. Thanks.

  • I can't get how to connect them :@

  • Thanks!

  • If we were to make it with 810 pieces, how many holes would there be

  • whats this song?

  • I meant;) ;) ;) :D

  • This is really cool ;(

  • done!!!

  • i made 90 units and now i'm going to assemble it!

  • nevermind this origami is fairly made this os the most modules ive used in origami :D 90

  • so is it like a pattern that goes 5 ring 6 ring 5 ring 6 ring?

  • I have a question that i'm really struggling to find the answer too. I wanted to know what exactly is considered modular orgiami? I've seen plenty of instructions that involve using modules that have been folded from triangle, hexagon, and octogon shaped pieces of paper. I've also seen plenty that are made from more than one type of module (they use connectors). Would these models be considered true modular origami?

  • @tyroblogger modular origami is any ammount of peices put together to form a structure. It follows the same rules as regular origami, however do not confuse it with kusudamas which use glue or string to connect the units.

  • are you using post it note paper?

  • are you using post it not paper?

  • hey thank you for the video, i want to ask you if you could tell me the size of the small paper sheet, with which you make one unit?Thank you! :)

  • cool job.

  • what type of paper do you use to make the phizz units?

  • ur reaLLy good at it.

  • das die nie zeigen wie es weiter geht sondern immer überspringen!

  • Are these sturdy when assembled or do they need glue to keep from coming apart? I've enjoyed making sonobe models, partly because they are so sturdy and nice when complete. These look cool, but I have a hunch they'd collapse pretty easily.

  • OMG 30 units

  • cool

  • LOL!!! it´s great!!!!! it´s just what i was looking for!!!!

  • I wanna see the buckyballs from zoomdoggle in origami form

  • cool i had a go it seems like it takes forever!

  • how are you supposed to make the small one can you make a tutorial just on the small one please?

  • you can use 120, but it would turn out a diffrent buckyball. just see tom hull's video on it

  • how long did it take

  • the 120 one isnt work.... i tried the 90 and it works well :)

  • i cant join it together........ i never even understood any of barbabellaatje's videos on origami crafts.......... no point of watching the videos in my arrogant opinion.... no offence... :-/

  • great music + my oragami achtually worked :)

  • you are awesome I love your videos

  • hey barbabellaatie is only 1 of those triangle things at 3:20 a unit???

  • that is soo cool

  • the comment at 1:03 is in he way!!!!!! imbecil!

  • @pr0fu13 on the How to make Origami Buckyballs from PHiZZ units vid at !:03 it says 30 units is use for the small 1 and 90 used for the big 1.;)

  • out of curiosity, is it possible to make an even bigger ball using more units?

  • @willowsprite i would say yes

  • okay so me being cheap i wanted to make one but only had tiney little small post it notes laying around. SO all day today i made 150 of them thinking that it is me and a craft so something is going to get broken... now i cant figure out how to put them together.. i neeeeds help :))) plz and thanks :)

  • So it is 90 for the big one?

  • i acutualy made one. Its not that hard im 11. took me the whole day tho. The thing is freakin awsome. i made the small one but used copy paper. If its copy paper it has the sise of the big one but the thinking of the small one.

  • ??how do the units fit together?

  • just a question like that lol can we do it with 12 units? if yes can u show a tutorial?

  • probably but I see some assembly difficulties, let me know if it worked out ;)

  • @oOshinjukuOo Yes you can i acctually did it

  • a little bit faster please!

  • why it's so perfect?

  • It's 120 units for the big one; I just made it. Thanks for the cool video.

  • how many unit rings is it in the classic one?

  • 5 AND 6 unit rings, just like a football yoy have all 6 rings around the 5 rings ; )

  • how do you fit this together? i dont get it ...

  • when you have 5 cornered rings,do 6 cornered around it,when watch carefully cause all of 5 cornered rings should be surounded by 6 cornered

  • @DeineOmaMeineOma How the F do you put the units together!

  • 1 down , 119 to go!! :)

  • 89 to go ; )

  • @FRUiTiECUTiE owned

  • @FRUiTiECUTiE ur actually gona mak it this is 2 much work CUTiE

  • 30 modules or 60 or 90 ? :-d 30 is clasik ball ? or 90 clasick ?

  • 90 for the classic ; )

  • Whats the size of each individual paper?

  • About 3.5 x 3.5 inch ; )

  • how many "triangles" does the small one need?

  • The small one requires 30 units - do not make 10 triangles, just assemble it 1 by 1 it is much harder when you make "triangles" first ; )!

  • it doesnt work for me... it always falls out...

  • The ring in 3:40 has 5 corners the ring in 3:41 has 6.

I tried it with 5 corners and it worked like a charm. When I tried to use 6 corners I stopped at 76 pieces of paper since it still didn't look like an almost complete ball. Did I do something wrong?

  • Hmmm yes... normally it should look a ball already with that many modules - just do the check: are there all 6-unit rings on all sides around all the 5-unit rings?

  • I found the problem after searching for the internet for some time. Every ball has to have 5-unit-rings. The 6-unit-rings are optional. I tried to create a ball with only 6-unit-rings.

  • With only 6-rings you basically get a flat model the 5-rings make it curve - that is also how you can build enormous structures with this module such as the 360 unit torus, but essentially any shape you want! ; )

  • do you see on the video the small or the big one?

  • In the beginning you see both to gether o_O but you can also make much bigger ones than the ones shown ;)

  • pff ik zie niet goe hoe ze da aan mekaar doen

  • how to you put it toghater? my is just faling apart before i have finichd one ring.

  • You must have done something different... these links are one of the strongest in the modular origami business - just some more practice ;)

  • Thank you so much to have the "guts" to share your wisedome with others...

  • you know Imade tons of those :) really took me long time to finish them but after 2 bals, you really get it and you start to make things you nefer thougt about, a nice thing to do is putting a balloon in the middle, pick an opposit colour, like a blue balloon inside an orangje phizz bal. its realy awsome :P

  • omg!! this is testing my patience just watching the video!! but, it looks awesome, so i'm going to pull my hair out and try one for myself. nice job by the way!!

  • hey barb are you sure it's thirty phizz units?

I seem to be getting nowhere.....

ihave seven phizz units left and it looks like it's not even half way done?plz help!

  • The small one is 30 units... watch closely and you can see the 12 faces (rings made out of 5 units) of the dodecahedron. As each module appears in 2 adjacent rings it is 12 x 5 /2 = 30 ;)

  • can I send you picture to help me?

  • sure, just post a vid response and we'll have a look ;)

  • do you need to use glue or tape or something?? it looks like do you but im not sure...

  • no. you don't need tape

  • Wait a second barb...

Very good against insanity? Are you kidding?

    I'm going insane right now!

  • song?

  • See vid description "oriental drift" downloadable for free

  • I made mine with the usual straws and atom connectors. But your origami is beautiful. Can't wait to try this myself. Cheers!

  • could you use 12

  • 30 or 60 looks better

  • 30 or 90 that is ;)

  • Comment removed

  • pps im useing my sisters acount.

  • nice video very well done i also realy like your other videos because there so easy to see the folds and so easy to follow. =) ps noce color choises.

  • lol!! im like O.O theres no way they fit like that

  • It looks more difficult than it is ;)

  • can you piz show me a video of how to make the little one

  • If you can make the big one you can make the small one and the other way arond - search for Tom Hull (the designer) if this instruction is not enough ;)

  • Cool!!!

  • WAIT NEVERMIND YOU ALREADY DID

  • is it possible to replicate the large buckyball using the torintillo units used to make the great stellated dodecahedron?

  • Yep, I have a vid out there showing the end result too! ;)

  • For the big one I followed the ring of 5 surrounded by rings of 6 method and I only needed 90 units..did I go wrong somewhere?

  • Nope, I myself lost count when making the vid... :D only 90 are required... but with the remaining 30 you can make the dodecahedron now too! ;)

  • Yay =D , already did, oh i have a request, just asking (dont kill meh) Can you possibly do a video on the Doodlebug, i cant get it right and all i can find are diagrams ¬¬ it would be a great help plz =D

  • thats fucked up show how to make it by ripping from a big piece if paper

  • i have made one thanx for your post:P watch my videos if you want:P

  • what type of paper is that?

  • 9x9cm coloured memo block paper

  • ok i want to make a 90 piece one cause i made 3 small ones and i dont get how to form it into a hexagon and not a pentagon. please help or someone make a video

  • Search for "tomhull17" Thomas Hull is the designer of these units and he also made an instruction vid!!!

  • to fast!

  • dude i made 120 of these things and i dont understand how to put them toghther use voice to make it easyer, becasue you made me waste 5 hours for stuip triangles!!!!!!! Omg At Least Help Me, i cant even put 3 toghether

  • Yes I got it finally but now how do you connect when it gets in circle?

  • Never mind i got that two

  • cand you use a stapeler at the end to make them stay?

  • Better to make them in a proper way first so no staples are necessary... if you want an easy modular go for my latest post the 20 module x-mass tree ball ;)

  • Ah very nice :)

Just to let you know though, the Truncated Icosahedron actually only needs 90 units as the polyhedron only has 90 edges. Just like the Dodecahedron only has 30 edges, so only needs 30 PHiZZ units :)

Very nice though, and yes Toothpicks can be a lifesaver!! haha

  • Ahhh very observant!! lol :D 90 indeed! I must have lost count somewhere sooo obsessed with one of the first modulars I ever made ....

  • It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

  • help me!

  • looking at your vids I don't think you need any ... ;)

  • how do you put the dang things together? i have the three PHiZZ units together, now how do you put those together?please help

  • All connections are the same so keep adding units to the first 3 ... usually people find out after a while.... if not search for 'phizz tom hull' and watch the vid of the creator of the model!!! ;)

  • I've been working on makin the 30-120 little paper links so far. I'm going for 120. It's gonna keep me occupied during encore once schol starts up again. =D btw, you must have a LOT of patience!!!

  • together* make*

  • Dude how do i make the small one? i got the 3 PHizz units togetjer but idk how to mae it. plz post a video on how to make it

  • it's 30 units. =]

  • yeah, walruses aren't quite as good at origami as humans are, but i finally got the 30 piece one! it looks sooooo cool!

  • Congrats!! he he he ;)

  • nevermind, i got it

  • Very good... anyone with a little patience should be able to do it... but I can imagine it is not so easy with those big flippers, tusks and all :)

  • ugh, i didn't figure it out, could you make a video of actually putting it together, like not the whole thing, but maybe just the first few rings.

  • wait! nevermind, I figured it out!

  • I'm kinda confused, I don't know how to make a five module ring; it always turns out being a 6 module ring.

  • cool pls make more video how to

  • Another project is near to completion... :D

  • when i first saw this video i thought it would be impossible. but now a month later i actually made the 30 peice one. thanks!

  • U R welcome! Indeed it may look difficult but it really isn't ;)

  • do u kno exactly why they are called phizz units? and what should i start with to start the classic one? i mean like a 5 module ring or something? or just start with three like u did?

  • PHiZZ Pentagon-Hexagon Zig-Zag unit (see vid description. Best to build structure from single units, turn the 3-unit one (shown)into a 5-ring first and start adding single units to that (build 6-rings around the first 5-ring). Good luck ;)

  • umm is it at all natural that once you do a 5 unit ring with a 6 unit ring on one side, it looks kind of like its gonna be bigger than the 30 module one, but smaller than the classic one?

  • I have ten groups of the three-piece modules. Now I don't know where to go from here as far as connecting them all. Any help?

  • It is actually somewhat easier fitting the 1 by 1, instead of making 3 piece modules. Not that it makes a huge difference. Anyhow start making a 5-ring ...you 'll need single units for that. It goes exactly the same as creating a 3 piece unit... just pause the vid and have a close look. Then start building 6-rings around that 5-ring.

  • Thanks so much for responding! Actually it's so crazy; last night it just clicked for me, and I made the 30 module unit! IT's so cool. I only did it using white paper, but it still looks really neat! Great tutorial. It just takes some time to visualize everything, which seems natural. Thanks!:)

  • :D !

  • wow! You make it look pretty easy!! :D I'm definitely trying this!

  • thanks!!!!

  • 3 questions

    1. What do you think the difficulty level this is??

2.how long does it take for the small one???

3.what size is the paper for the small one?

  • 1: Is certainly not difficult but may need some practice with putting modules together

2: Depends but would say 30 modules few minutes each --> 1-2 hours maybe longer at 1st

3: For both 9x9cm squares were used (standard memo block paper)

    Good luck!! :D

  • when you said.. 9x9 thats for the small one? 30 pieces>? how bout the big one? whats the size?

  • Both are made out of 9x9cm squares the small one from 30 squares the big one from 120 squares 1 inch = 2.54 cm

  • i'm trying to do it :) and the work is still in progress, is very easy to make, thanks for your tutorial 5 star^ *****

  • ありがとう grazie :)

  • That is soooooo good! im going to have a go at making one now!!!! Thankyou for uploading the video!!!! :D

  • hello, i have a probleme to put all together.can you explain for the big one , you start with a 5ring and around it wth 5rings and after???thanks for helping me because mine looks like a rugby ball

  • If you start with a 5-ring, you surround it with 6-rings... when you pause the vid in the beginning you can see 0_o

  • is a buckyball easy to make?

  • It is not so difficult. Best practice first with the small one. The big advantage is that folding the units can be done much quicker than for other types of modules. Good luck!!

  • k tanks!!

  • is a buckyball easy to make?

  • Oh my gosh, I have to get busy and make all these cool origamies. Looks really awesome!

  • Wow amazing!

  • Still can go both ways: aaaaaaawesome or aaaaaaawful ?!
