As far as I see it, the US guy just didn't expect the Brit to get up so quickly. Can't blame him, he had a healthy lead on everyone except the jamaicans. The Brit started way too quickly, as evidenced by his partner being unable to catch him. The brit also has the build of the Incredible hulk, so any contact with him will send a man crashing to the floor. Just ask Darvis Patton
Not too sure who is at fault here because both athletes were in their lane, but i think it is poor judgement by the British athlete too be so far on the outside of his lane , being on the outside causes you to run a longer distance why would anyone want to do that?
Copy n paste /watch?v=By1JQFxfLMM after youtube.com n watch it at 0:40 n watch this video at 1:17 in this video n tell me if its the same white guy from 2years ago
patton was clearly in his lane, it is not about where his body is but where his feet touch. his feet were clearly in the lane and had a decent gap between him and the line. unfortunate yes, but a great turn was run. britain just started a little too far on the outside and patton had his body leaned a little too much. oh well
@nubstars if you look at darvis paton's feet you see he was almost running on the line **pause the video @ 0:49 ** the great britain athlete was in his lane it was paton ho ran into him. futhermore i believe walter dix moved off too early in an effort to get the stick before usain around the bend.. the fact is paton was under pressure and lost concentration.
upon further review, the GBR runner actually starts running to soon. Thus causing him to trip the USA runner. Evident due to the fact that GBR failed to echange the baton on the last leg.
@srch4trth They crossed the line at 37.04. So why would they adjust it to 38.8 or38.9? The wind is only factored when record is broken. Meaning the recorded time stands but it is not recognized as a record if it is "wind aided". The time would be reconized as a record though if they were going against the headwind as opposed to the tailwind. But in this kind of race the wind is never factored because the tailwind and the headwind cancel each other during the entire course.
@nubstars The British guy was at the center of his lane it is the US guy who even stepped on the line towards the British guy. So it's the US guy who messed it up for his team, Britain and Trinidad.
@HeshimaJameni I have to disagree with you. From what I saw The british runner had left too early, his arm was inside the usa lane and he was oblivious to the us runner coming behind him, made contact and threw usa off balance causing the us runner to fall and screw up trinidad. the us runner was in his lane the whole time. So no this was definitely not the us's fault.
@yoyohihiyohi you cant go by that.. for some reason it never matches up.. if you look at Bolt's 200m in Berlin you will see 18.9 and his 100m shows a 9.4.. for some reason it always does that.
fast? Jasmaica just broke their own world record, the US stands no chance, imagine if Asafa was there? Jamaica will lower these times in the Olympics, these records will be there for a long long time before they are broken... Jamaica to the world.
the commentators voice when he talks about the fall is like, 'well, i have to mention this but fuck that, all i care about are the badass jamaicans.'

for people wondering why they didn't get 38.8 or 38.9 is because they have to factor in the wind +/-

Ultimate 4 by 1 team for Jamica. Steve Mullings, Yohan Blake, Asafa Powell, and the one and only Usain Bolt.

if only Asafa Powell was there, Jamaicans would of gotten 37.00 flat!! :) just saying

That was fast; US would have most likely come in second if he wasn't hit and contacted.

US has strong women team in 4x1 and 4x4, mens 4x4 is good also... only country to challenge the US is Jamaica, strange.
in the Olympics the US will be challenged but still looking good.
ARTaken007 5 months ago
At least we can take some consolation in knowing the USA won three of the four relays and things look bright for 2012!
