@dzgfdg Yes but they have low living standards. And of course a country of a billion will have a LARGER economy but that isn't necessarily a BETTER one. Go to China, visit the millions of poor farmers and the sweatshop workers that make less then half a dollar an hour, in an unsafe toxic workplace where they may not talk and will sometimes be forced into overtime. But their overtime is 16 hours, 12 hours is regular. And then come back to me and tell me about Chinas wonderful fuckin economy!
@fishontuesday its pretty wonderful.... and what i meant to say was that it has the worlds largest and 2nd BEST economy in the world. and what about the foreign labor work that u americans say that we are taking your jobs, fuck u, u can't handle a job picking berries in 103 degree sun and for 7 hours straight. so dont fuckin talk to me about which country is more humane to its residents, the will to survive burns in all of us
@dzgfdg That's merely based on purchasing power. Which like I said is size, nothing more. What determines the real health of the economy is GDP per person (per capita) Which means the people as an average - from an economic stand point. And based on that, China doesn't score very high. I am not an American lover, they are mostly fat fuckin idiots. And I certainly don't love our gvt! We need to kick corporate lobbyists out of gvt and need to adopt a European style economy.

@dzgfdg well perhaps. The term Socialism widely varies, you do realize that communists are socialists. By that I mean a communist has to also be Socialist, but a Socialist doesn't have to be a communist. This video was interesting until the religious bs starting coming in. I knew it was too good to be true that a religious sponsored video would present all the facts lol
Keep religion out of science. Religious scientists can live with the dichotomy. Science is based on facts and religion on faith. Why must you create these problems? Is your faith weak? My facts have proof.
and pixie is so adamant that there are other ways of tissue regeneration..i hate to break it to you but THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO FILL UR STOMACH TOO. why not support that cause?!
Yes, we can eat synthesized peptides. If the food producing industry would be so kind and sell us
a protein blocks that would also fill our body's need for vitamins and microelements I will thankfully eat that kind of food. Like in Matrix: all the body needs. But as always people are greedy and on low level of development. If you love animals so much
(I suppose that extends to vertebrate species only) how you name destruction of arthropoda? or "even" bacterium?
all u self obsessed bastrds (pixie being one of them) roar at possible humans being killed but do not take a minute to kill an animal's child and eat it..call me a tree hugger i don mind..im not heartless like all bloody non vegetarians going all out in supoorting their 'noble cause of ceasing embryo deaths'. thankless bastards
And to the followers of "harvest of embryonic stem cells": If you had been decomposed at few cells stage of development, you wouldn't be writing anything now...
And this from 2009 should end the debate about disassembling human children for production of stem cells: this article describes methods of acquisition of stem cells from human skin -they are your body cells clones. Cell Stem Cell. 2009 Jun 5;4(6):472-6. Epub 2009 May 28.Generation of human induced pluripotent stem cells by direct delivery of reprogramming proteins.Kim D, Kim CH, Moon JI, Chung YG, Chang MY, Han BS, Ko S, Yang E, Cha KY, Lanza R,
So there we are not dealing with "potential" of an embryo to develop into human, because this suggest statistical interpretation, as if it could
develop different species, but with 1/0 confidence that is meant to give a new human. And indeed at that stage the one cell is really equal to all human organism, even if it seems amazing.
Science in simple words is how things works. In this case how human body works. Results of newest research allow us to obtain stem cells from our own body, without the need for destruction of someone else's organism.
That should be extremely clear: human cell with complete genome that entered the state
of embryogenesis WILL produce entire body.
That characteristic differs that cell from all other cells of our bodies that also have complete copy of genome.
There are different kinds of stem cells. Stem cells from the gut can make lots of types of cells for the gut. Stem cells from the embryo can make every type of cell in the body. There's no question as to which could potentially be more useful, it's just the moral dilemma holding us back.
I'll yield the point that 12 cells clustered together in an embryo is technically a human, I just don't care.
Moreover, even the "matrix" procedure is not proper description of this, because in "matrix" food was produced from cadavers, and here we have to deal with disassembling all living human body in development!
There are many other methods of tissue regeneration including damaged neural cells, but this demand research and funding instead of spending money on stupid tasks. ...And most of all it does not requires harvest of humans for production from their bodies material for replacement for the others...
The method (using embryonic stem cells ) presented here resembles making food from human tissues like in "matrix"!
"The theory is that because stem cells are fetal cells, they are designed to proliferate and give rise to new tissue, which means they have the potential to produce tumors. The case, write the authors of this weeks case study, should serve as a warning that more research is needed to gauge the safety of these novel therapies."
if you are saying humans shouldn't be treated as property because it isn't moral, thats fine. however, considering how morality is completely subjective and not in accord with reason, your argument doesn't really stand.
Let's see, it's reasonable and moral not to own another human being. It's reasonable and moral to not steal from someone else, it's reasonable and moral not to kill someone else. It's reasonable and moral not to destroy the environment. Need I continue?
It's reasonable to not murder your parents for their money, right? Or would you say it's more reasonable to murder them, because you'd have extra money?
Morality reasons that your parents are more valuable as living thinking individuals, infinitely more valuable than any amount of money could ever be.
The inner cell mass IS the entire developing individual at the blastocyst stage, an embryological/biological FACT. The remainder of the blastocyst forms the placenta, etc.
All this problems strike me as a matter of little experimentation. Stem cell cultivation (the reproduction of stem cell) is being studied, so that there won't be any need to take ovules from many women. It is funny how in these christian video they always show you an almost complete fetus to say "Hey, that's alive, if you want stems you kill him and this is BAD!" you ain't touching the fetus, just an embryo!
And BTW almost every cell of your body "may be capable of grow into a full grown child"
Yo, real, the REALity is that the stem cells from this "clump of cells" are not used for therapies. They are not implanted.
The truth, if you're interested, is that this individual embryo's cells are harvested, coaxed, allowed to duplicate and differentiate billions of times over until the desired cell type(heart musle, pancreatic islet, etc.) is obtained. It probably takes 9 months or more.
Therefore, in your friendly corporate lab, a newborn's body parts are in separate dishes awaiting sale.
I know that. In fact, if you put them directly in a living body, a tumor made of various tissue will form. This, and the fact that they are harvested and "cultivated", just show how they are just normal cell, without a self-conscience whatsoever.
True self-consciousness and self-awareness does not develop until about age 2. By your criteria babies can be harvested. Any cells CAN be harvested throughout life. Cartilage cells are commonly harvested and cultivated from adults, for example.
When such harvesting destroys an entire developing individual( or more accurately converts this individual into marketable products for other individuals), this is a clear violation of human decency.
So it's okay to destroy, own and sell this individual if you get it early enough, but not as a newborn, even though it's the same individual, 9 months apart?
Furthermore, is it okay to own and sell a newborn's body parts ? After all, it's the same individual's body parts growing in corporate lab dishes separately ( a 9 month old "stem cell line")
Incorrect. That bunch of cells is the entire human individual at that stage of its development. Incorrect again, after 9 months, the vast majority of the cells have duplicated thousands of times, matured and differentiated, as does a normal embryo and fetus, into a newborn infant's body parts.( heart, nerve, pancreas, etc.
On your first "incorrect" I would like to remember that that bunch of cells which you call an individual can be cultivated into replication, hence it is no defined organism.
On your second incorrect we are saying the same thing: in fact I said "After 9 months (and even a lot earlier) it is no more a bunch of stem cell" meaning that only in the first stage of embryogenesis, when the Inner Cell Mass is present (and those are the cell which we call stem cells) that bunch of cell is no individual.
Hello:) I am a college student from Japan and for my sociology class, I made a survey regarding stem cell controversy. Survey only consists of 10qs and I hope everyone who interested about this topic will take it. It should take only a few minutes. Survey will be open till 7/8. Please go to my YouTube account and click a link to survey because I cannot post a link here.
Nothing like religious dogma to cloud reasoning, especially in the places it matters most, like saving already born life, instead of a clump of cells less complex than the auditory system of the common housefly.
So they mean that ebryos only are formed using "husband and his wife"? What about all the other embryos? Oh, and now it's not ok for a woman to donate her eggs to another woman who can't produce her own? Bet there are catholic women out there who conceived with anothers eggs - but that child was baptized in the church too! UGH! Now I know whay I am a Christian!
If it is unborn and never will be born (because it is not desired) so cells will die anyway.
An adult male is killing billions of unborn children every day that could become walking human, but this is nothing to worry, nonono, but if we "toy" with dying cells, suddenly everything is such huge issue.
Millions of people die (mostly kids) in starvation every year, but if 1 guy goes and shoots 10 people in school, that will be on news for 3 month.
My son has severe autism. I'd give everything I own, my right arm, my right leg, and my right eye for a cure. I AM AGAINST HUMAN EMBRYONIC SACRIFICE for "research". Adult stem cells, cord cells, are okay.
You're against 4 cells that were excess embryos taken for Invitro Fertilization being used to cure your son when no doubt this embryo will be incinerated someday because it won't be used to make a baby. Wow. Pretty logical!
Read Hosea 9:11-16. In it God performs several abortions by making the women of Ephraim miscarry. Is that not abortion?
3 day old embryo has 150 cells, not 4, a week later, thousands, a few weeks later, a heart, head, nervous system.
"because they'll be thrown away" is a short sited argument. IF it works, say, for diabetics,(24million in US), There'll be a demand for millions of embryos, embryo factories will arise controlled by who knows; women will be adversely affected by the millions. That's a fact and has nothing to do with the bible.
The reason why there have been no breakthroughs or cures is because embryonic stem cell research is so restricted. The ethical problems are so stupid. Is having a period murder, Mr. Catholic Do-Gooder?
You damn moron, the embryos they use for SCR are unused embryos, excess from invitro fertilization. They're going to die anyway, probably from incineration. Besides, is 4 cells a conscious human being? I don't think so.
@ oran6es: Adult stem cells don't do shit. All they do is make the same organ they came from, and not all organs contain them.
@ people against "killing" embryos because of christianity: God performs abortions, kills thousands of helpless infants and children, etc in the bible.
All scientific progress has been through "iffy" and "not very promising" research The incandescent light bulb was attempted about 10,000 times by Edison. That sounds pretty "iffy" to me If Fleming hadn't been studying about Staph bacteria, he wouldn't have found Penicillin @jhk11774 Donating my own organs for research wouldn't do anything since adult stem cells are not very useful They might be able to grow them and put them in someone else for repair, but even finding them in the organ is hard.
4 cells doesn't count as a human. It is not conscious, it does not breath, it does not digest food on its own. It is a minuscule ball of cells that, if done correctly in a hospital setting, could turn into a human. But it wouldn't anyway even if SCR did not exist, because it is an excess embryo, waiting in the refrigerator until it is incinerated. So, you could:
A. Use it to try and find cures to diseases such as Alzheimer's and Cerebral Palsy, and no doubt discover new things
Hey i'm doing a project-thing...i would really love it if you could let me know the SOURCE of this video....date of release...and any info you may have.
Research indicates, magnetic bacteria and the mitochondria have the same properties. The average person dies around age 70 due to insufficient turning during sleep. Astronauts, when they leave the Earth's magnetic field, must take with them a copy of the Earth's magnetic field, and insure their periodic movement within that field to prevent osteoporosis. Live Long, Keep Movin!

The truth, if you're interested, is that this individual embryo's cells are harvested, coaxed, allowed to duplicate and differentiate billions of times over until the desired cell type(heart musle, pancreatic islet, etc.) is obtained. It probably takes 9 months or more.
Therefore, in your friendly corporate lab, a newborn's body parts are in separate dishes awaiting sale.
oran6es 2 years ago
I know that. In fact, if you put them directly in a living body, a tumor made of various tissue will form. This, and the fact that they are harvested and "cultivated", just show how they are just normal cell, without a self-conscience whatsoever.
TheRealFrancesco 2 years ago
True self-consciousness and self-awareness does not develop until about age 2. By your criteria babies can be harvested. Any cells CAN be harvested throughout life. Cartilage cells are commonly harvested and cultivated from adults, for example.
When such harvesting destroys an entire developing individual( or more accurately converts this individual into marketable products for other individuals), this is a clear violation of human decency.
oran6es 2 years ago
Uhm... not really. There is quite a difference between the lack of self-awareness in a 1 year old baby and in a bunch of cells.
TheRealFrancesco 2 years ago
So it's okay to destroy, own and sell this individual if you get it early enough, but not as a newborn, even though it's the same individual, 9 months apart?
Furthermore, is it okay to own and sell a newborn's body parts ? After all, it's the same individual's body parts growing in corporate lab dishes separately ( a 9 month old "stem cell line")
oran6es 2 years ago
It's not an individual. It's a bunch of cells, not much different from a piece of skin. There is no brain, there is no soul.
After 9 months (and even a lot earlier) it is no more a bunch of stem cell.
TheRealFrancesco 2 years ago
Incorrect. That bunch of cells is the entire human individual at that stage of its development. Incorrect again, after 9 months, the vast majority of the cells have duplicated thousands of times, matured and differentiated, as does a normal embryo and fetus, into a newborn infant's body parts.( heart, nerve, pancreas, etc.
oran6es 2 years ago

Thank you for your cooperation.

i can't believe they consider embryonic stem cells human life.
DAIGORO14 2 years ago
husband and wife in a natural act.
Lol fuckin' catholicism.
Nothing like religious dogma to cloud reasoning, especially in the places it matters most, like saving already born life, instead of a clump of cells less complex than the auditory system of the common housefly.
stylovore 2 years ago
Sty, you can have your housefly and his maggots. I'll take the human being any day. How are you gonna save the already born with a teratoma?
oran6es 2 years ago
So they mean that ebryos only are formed using "husband and his wife"? What about all the other embryos? Oh, and now it's not ok for a woman to donate her eggs to another woman who can't produce her own? Bet there are catholic women out there who conceived with anothers eggs - but that child was baptized in the church too! UGH! Now I know whay I am a Christian!

Killing unborn child equals digging empty space.
If it is unborn and never will be born (because it is not desired) so cells will die anyway.
An adult male is killing billions of unborn children every day that could become walking human, but this is nothing to worry, nonono, but if we "toy" with dying cells, suddenly everything is such huge issue.
Millions of people die (mostly kids) in starvation every year, but if 1 guy goes and shoots 10 people in school, that will be on news for 3 month.

fucking coward moralfags like yourself hold science back.
loolzorz 2 years ago
Naa, holding cannibalism back. Holding back treating humans as property. That's it. Very heterosexual, not a coward.
Morality can be a cool thing.
ADULT stem cells work.
oran6es 2 years ago
yeah man morality is cool and shit. and if you're eating the stem cells you're doing it wrong. just saying.
loolzorz 2 years ago
Exactly, don't consume someone else's stem cells. Let them develop as nature intended, as a whole human.
oran6es 2 years ago
why?
loolzorz 2 years ago
Because humans shouldn't be treated as property. That's been tried before.
oran6es 2 years ago
thank you!

you don't need a "husband" and "wife" to reproduce. Also just say sex, its like this documentary is geared towards children.

So it goes on, now they get them where and how they can even if thousand of new born babies have to suffer from AUTISM CEREBRAL PALSY

My son has severe autism. I'd give everything I own, my right arm, my right leg, and my right eye for a cure. I AM AGAINST HUMAN EMBRYONIC SACRIFICE for "research". Adult stem cells, cord cells, are okay.
oran6es 2 years ago
Thank you!!! i feel the same and am in a similar situation...
jhk11774 2 years ago
You're against 4 cells that were excess embryos taken for Invitro Fertilization being used to cure your son when no doubt this embryo will be incinerated someday because it won't be used to make a baby. Wow. Pretty logical!
Read Hosea 9:11-16. In it God performs several abortions by making the women of Ephraim miscarry. Is that not abortion?
XtrAwexome 2 years ago
3 day old embryo has 150 cells, not 4, a week later, thousands, a few weeks later, a heart, head, nervous system.
"because they'll be thrown away" is a short sited argument. IF it works, say, for diabetics,(24million in US), There'll be a demand for millions of embryos, embryo factories will arise controlled by who knows; women will be adversely affected by the millions. That's a fact and has nothing to do with the bible.
oran6es 2 years ago
Cant wait we have those treatments, i am 27 and i just feel the basic feelings of aging. In few years i ll be like 16 again.
max10wonderboy 3 years ago
The reason why there have been no breakthroughs or cures is because embryonic stem cell research is so restricted. The ethical problems are so stupid. Is having a period murder, Mr. Catholic Do-Gooder?
XtrAwexome 3 years ago
ok, why don't you kill yourself to donate your organs for research? same thing...
jhk11774 2 years ago
You damn moron, the embryos they use for SCR are unused embryos, excess from invitro fertilization. They're going to die anyway, probably from incineration. Besides, is 4 cells a conscious human being? I don't think so.
@ oran6es: Adult stem cells don't do shit. All they do is make the same organ they came from, and not all organs contain them.
@ people against "killing" embryos because of christianity: God performs abortions, kills thousands of helpless infants and children, etc in the bible.
XtrAwexome 2 years ago
All scientific progress has been through "iffy" and "not very promising" research The incandescent light bulb was attempted about 10,000 times by Edison. That sounds pretty "iffy" to me If Fleming hadn't been studying about Staph bacteria, he wouldn't have found Penicillin @jhk11774 Donating my own organs for research wouldn't do anything since adult stem cells are not very useful They might be able to grow them and put them in someone else for repair, but even finding them in the organ is hard.
XtrAwexome 2 years ago
i meant donate your organs to someone needing an organ if you care to save someone at the expense of another life....
jhk11774 2 years ago
4 cells doesn't count as a human. It is not conscious, it does not breath, it does not digest food on its own. It is a minuscule ball of cells that, if done correctly in a hospital setting, could turn into a human. But it wouldn't anyway even if SCR did not exist, because it is an excess embryo, waiting in the refrigerator until it is incinerated. So, you could:
A. Use it to try and find cures to diseases such as Alzheimer's and Cerebral Palsy, and no doubt discover new things
B. Incinerate it.

Magnetrition.
