The audio is real but it's obviously not from this video. Unless it's out of sync by like 30 seconds or something. There are parts during the vocals where no one is even near a microphone.
This is real, Billie Joe Armstrong also tweeted on Twitter of how he wrote Haushinka based on a real girl around the same time he wrote Basket case however he didn't release it in an album untill Nimrod.
dunno...i guess its fake, or the sound and the video is out of sync. There are several parts in the video, when billiejoe and mike are singing according to the audio, but they are too far away from the mic stands...the drum rolls are also out of sync... maybe its a different audio and video record, who knows (-:
All people who think that this is not true, this is really Billie twittered this: Haushinka was written around the sametime as basket case. But released on Nimrod. And yes there really is a girl named haushinka.
@Ispunknotdeath Haushinka was written long before it was on Nimrod...same with Good Riddance. These were songs before he was ever married to Adrienne which happened in 94.
@jtoatoktoe but i read Haushinka was written when Billie met a girl in japan in one of them tours and they went to Japan in 1997 for Insomniac-Nimrod...
@DeTostiShow while that is true it was released on nimrod, haushinka was written way before the release of nimrod. there's a demo of it dating it back to the time of dookie.
im sure if you google it something will come up on it.
I don't think it's the demo, this sounds like real live footage. Though, it was written around the time of Dookie, but I guess this footage matches up good.
sorry, I wouldn't say it's fake if it wasn't...I'm not a fucking hater, but it's truth - at 1:25 we can clearly hear Billie and Mikey sing, they aren't even close to a microphone...I'd love to watch a live video of this song, but this is not the one :/
@MrWelshdrummer dude... Haushinka was written in 1993 and was a Dookie demo... it was then re-covered and included in Nimrod... get your facts right before posting
@RankielGuitar So if it was written after a tour to Japan, then I guess he really did meet a girl named Haushinka and he was fond of her so he wrote the song about how he wished he could go back and tell her how he felt?
I've seen the whole concert numberous of times and they didnt play this song at this concert. you've simply taken the audio from another bootleg I forgot the name off and put it in this video.
@ArmageddonProphet this version was recorded in 1992 as a demo for their next album (dookie), but didn't make it on the album..it was then re-recorded for nimrod instead.
i think it's fake cuz John is hitting symbols at the wrong time and the camera doesn't pick the sound up. and the freakin screen goes black near the end.
and see its also not rare to see videos of green day from 92-93 playing songs off dookie and nimrod cuz half the song from dookie and nimrod were already written back then
Billie had so many songs written already to make dookie and nimrod right then and their so thats why u see him doing songs like Having a blast, When i come around, Haushinka etc. etc. back in 91,92,93 so yeah there i just cleared up this whole mess
but the sound does not even go with the video, even a crappy camera isnt that off. i still believe it is fake but i respect you two for putting up such an argument. oh and plus replying to your comment below, its not that hard for a band to cover it and put it with the video
All the songs off their american idiot album and their 21 century breakdown album are REAL PUNK ROCK political songs, back then all they wrote about were girls
the original Haushinka song was written in 92-93 if you listen to the Dookie Demo album its on their, they just waited till nimrod because they wanted to make the song better and then they wrote Jinx and made Jinx and Haushinka lead into each other
if its not green day then who is it, and also if it is a different band how did they know this song haushinka if it wasnt even out yet did they see into the future or something so obviously the song was already out so the fact that you guys are saying its fake makes u idiots, now this song wasnt out in 92 so yeah the year is wrong but the vids real, it has to be real because youre hearing the frickin song played live
This song was written (and perfromed) by Green Day in 1992, released in 1997 with Nimrod. It was not played at McGregors, and there is no live video for it,which is what the uploader is claiming. So in that respect, yes it is fake.
dude that is fake. nimrod wasn't out in 1992, retard. and theotheraccount is right, it's not even billie's voice. even if it is 17 years ago, thats not his voice. sounds like mikemacasero
If you're a musician - proficient in bass, who knows Green Day to the tee (a'like myself), you'll notice Mike Dirnt is playing the lines to "2,000 Light Years Away" - he's hitting a C-Flat rhythm, 4 measures in before Billie starts singing - obvious....
The audio track IS actually Green Day - there was an mp3 of it from their VERY early website back in the late 90's. But this is not it's video. Green Day wrote this and "Time of Your Life", among others, long before Nimrod.

@FenderFourLife No... this is the one live version we have... Sadly though, it's from 1992.
The Dookie Demos version(s) sound like this one because it was their attempt at a decent recording of the song AFTER this performance.

There are several songs Billie wrote about the same person - a girl he was a close friend to. The songs are (in no order):
- When I Come Around
-Time of Your Life
- Haushinka
-The Judge's Daughter
"When I Come Around" was about the time when this girl moved to Equador (I think that's how you spell it).
