ELIZABETH WAS SIMPLY THE BEST. She was only 18 in this film****Monty called her Bessie Mae and she loved him. SLEEP IN THE ARMS OF THE ANGELS BESSIE MAE with Monty, Rock, Jimmy and all your loves. Heaven is rockin with the party girl safely home. WOW!!
These stars ARE icons, so unique with wonderful screen presence, most of the bloody actors nowadays look & act the same, very few are outstanding like those of the golden era of hollywood, and the dialogue nowadays is either full of profanity or completely cynical post modern bullshit, RIP TO BOTH THESE BEAUTIFUL LEGENDS IN THIS WONDERFULLY MOVING GORGEOUS FILM...
So young. So beautiful. Her whole life ahead of her but she would never have a scene as romantic as this one. "Tell mama. Tell mama all." I just lost it.
Are you dreaming of your own place in the sun ...I may have the properrty for you from great value studios to villa you can influence the design of. I can promise you fabulous sea views on this all year round island of Love, Cyprus. To find out more call Shashi on 0035796697384.
Liz was only 18 here -- and already the most gorgeous woman in the world. Who would guess that a mere sixteen years later, she'd be the foul mouthed Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" Her best work is here, in "Last Time I Saw Paris", "Giant", "Raintree County", "Cat", "Suddenly, Last Summer", "Virginia Woolf' and "Taming of the Shrew".
Oh how I LOVE this film soooooooooo much!!!! I love how Monty whispers to himself the word "happy" after she asks him if he is. One of the greatest films ever made!
Ill pick you up outside the factory, she tells Clift; and then she breathes into his ear: Youll be my pickup. Moments later the emotional intensity is raised even higher when Clift exclaims, If I could only tell you how much I love you. If I could only tell you all. In response, she draws him closer and in a voice that could ignite fires implores him, Tell mamma, tell mamma all.
@jkircher314 ~ Every time I see this, and I've seen it scores of times, chills run up my spine and the hair stands up on the back of my neck. This DEFINES "movie magic"! The longing and the sexuality are palpable, as is the genuine offscreen afffection between the two stars. Glorious!
oh. monty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Liz the only actress to work with the 3 giants of "the method"? Namely, Clift, Brando & Dean.
ajames95 11 months ago
@ajames95 Since Dean only made three films, I think its same to assume she is.

Elizabeth & Montgomery are my favorite movie stars.
I guess the only thing today is she will get to meet Mike & Monty & Roy again.
Love to them all.

May she rest in peace.

The "Tell Mama" line is outrageous. Especially since she really thought it was corny. But she really pulled it off the the nth degree.
