Well, why don't you Democrats be the hero and skip raising taxes and make a few cuts? It would be good for your image to put your country above your politics. If the consequences are so dire, wouldn't compromising with the Republicans be worth it for the nation?

More tax cuts for the rich and corporations . . . while cutting necessary domestic programs for the middle class and poor ? The debt needs to be sorted out to find out how much of it is fraud. I have a feeling companies like Haliburton still owe us money. The part of the debt that is interest should be looked into also. A full accounting needs to take place and given to the American people to decide if the debt is legitimate. Otherwise our kids will be paying for con artists manipulations.
