No doubt Jakob can swim but you need to throw a floating ball or toy in the water......thats why he is swimming in circles and looking around. He wants to retrieve something and bring it back to you.
my jrt 'elvis' loves to swim also, but not as much as your! your just keeps on jumping in. elvis jumps in swims a couple a minutes and he is done. on to other things. we live on lake michigan and he has been swimming that lake for 10 years, it keeps him healthy and fit, good way to burn off that energy. without burning me out! why would you even bother trying to explan to someone watching this video that jrt. can swim? all breeds can swim, but some dogs just cant swim, just like people.

Our jack Russell swims and swims, will do it all day. She recently tried to swim in a puddle. She goes round and round like this dog, eating her bubbles! She will chase sticks and bring them back. She loves running water, where she can just pace herself against the current. My Dad has had some Standard Dachshunds that couldn't (not wouldn't) swim.
Er, what the hell are you saying. My JR can swim, infact yesterday he sliped into a lake after a stick, went under the water swimming to get the stick, and swam back perfectly.
@vikesh81 My Jack goes crazy around our pool. When you swim he chases you back and forth from the side, but he seldom jumps in. When you do put him in he acts scared, but instead of going to the steps or to your arms he turns around repeatedly and does more laps. It just seems like anything physical gets him all riled up.

My Dad's dogs tried, were enthusiastic for a swim but couldn't unless they had help. Little life jacket thing and they were fine.

If you place a Russell in a pool they sink man, they head straight down to Daveys locker (or the canine equivalent)
