If you heard what Otacon said in-game, Gekko can detect you with Optical stealth on, the only thing is that there's a slightly less chance of them finding you. Also, I'm pretty sure you just snuck around the Gekko to not take any chances.

So just a word of advice dont go in there when you have the frogs on you. You really dont want to do it when you have it on Big Boss Extreme. You will get ass raped by frogs. Oh and one more peice of adive if you rome around that little area some more you should finds a pair of purple high heels. Dont come within 10 or 15 feet of them because they are covered by a 50. cal frog sniper on big boss extreme and use DSR-1 snipers on every other difficulty. Stealth camo is effective in this area.

If you lie down on it you can get a specail camo that you can save to you octocamo manuel camo file. If you wear NV you can see hand prints leading up to it. Yeah i was playing and randomly got the frogs on me so i ran around and i had NV on and saw hand prints so me and my dumb ass followed them and got cornerd in there.
