I don't understand your definiition of what's "real", but his conscious stuff is just as "real" as the ghetto stuff. If you listen to nas then, and now, you'll notice that his metaphores, word play, and over all ideas are better than they were before, it's just that his flow doesn't have that master touch to it anymore. What made illmatic so good in my opinion was how nas chose to ride the beat and his rhythming patterns were so unpredictable. His rhythming sylables were closer to.

If you listen to nas then, and now, you'll notice that his metaphores, word play, and over all ideas are better than they were before, it's just that his flow doesn't have that master touch to it anymore. What made illmatic so good in my opinion was how nas chose to ride the beat and his rhythming patterns were so unpredictable. His rhythming sylables were closer to.

@malboro1979 No what I meant was it was less abstract, more about guns, drugs, etc. Of course that it is real, that was the environment he was accustomed to. However, I feel he's gone more from telling stories to more of a preachy type style. I'm not saying he's regressed as a rapper, I belive he's progressed a million times over throughout the years. I just really miss this stuff from him.

@exkimo64 mine is alot better than that, the bass in mine is more clear and theres no static or scratches in it whatsoever. its a FLAC file. around 780 bitrate. i also have life is like a dice game, understanding and just another day in the projects they were all on the same EP, and theyre all flac files.
