  • heh heh.... cockburn

  • The hell is she looking at thru the telescope when it's overcast with T-storms?

  • hermione cockburn........lol

  • It is the same in Canada....we learn about nothing about the First Nations in our schools....if we do it is so watered down and trivial

  • i've watched 1/3 of this video and have yet to see one contribution to civilization that these cannibalistic savages have accomplished....no farmer needs a calendar to know when to plant...meso-america has given us chili peppers, chihuahua dogs and illegal immigrants, not anything else....it's fashionable now to ascribe all sorts of mystical knowledge and merit to native americans, where none existed...this is yet another exercise in political correctness

  • @jethro035181 Well, Jethro if you've ever put a few snickers bars in that beergut of yers you should know that chocolate is from these civilizations. Coffee too. Tomatoes too. There's too much more to really waste my time with an ignorant redneck like you.

  • @Chuckjagerdiver ...they also gave us cocaine, tobacco, chicano street gangs and freddy fender, but does that make them a great civilization...native americans also came up with syphilis...enough badinage, 'cause i must go to a john birch society meeting

  • @jethro035181 Native Americans came up with syphilis? Man you're a 'tard. Sorry. I didn't know your limitations.

  • @Chuckjagerdiver ...syphilis was unknown in europe prior to the voyages of christopher columbus...the first major outbreak occurred in naples in 1494...columbus's sailors picked it up doing christian missionary work among caribbean natives...the reservation system, and wetbacks aren't our only benefits from these people

  • There are some mistakes with the pronunciation. The "ch" in Tenochtitlan is pronounced like the "ch" in chair, not like the "ch" in the Scottish word Loch. Also, the "tl" sound is very different to how she says it. It's like a lisp sound. Check Wikipedia for the Nahuatl article, and follow the "listen" link. The last sound of Nahuatl is the "tl"sound. Also a single floating garden is a chinampa, not a chinampas. One chinampa, two chinampas. Again: check Wikipedia.

  • Great contributions to the world

  • funny how there were pellagra epidemics in European communities that adopted maize as a staple food cause of the absence of the nixtamalization process.

  • the europeans didnt try to learn and improve themselves but instead were only interested in the kind of riches they valued and their egoic agenda as we continue with to this day in truth they were dirty diseased and crude and ruthless not to mention insanely greedy and ignorant and after the dark ages of europe also fanatics about their own religion and why they succeeded to destroy superior cultures is still dumbfounding but thats history

  • this would be an excellent progrqamme if it wasn't for that irritating prat Jopson

  • europeans are too simple to figure out the gratness of all the things the ancients of my culture did, Maybe they would actually know how and what to do if they wouldn't have raped, pillaged, and killed them all. The world is a funny place, but you need to listen to it more than a human mouth, if not it won't be so funny when it strikes back at humans for not having listened in the first place.

  • Good series, but a bit too self smug, after all, the Mexicans had civilization far in advance of western Europe.

    Some strange quotes...

'They seemed at first, uncivilized, but they had lots of research'

'In Aztec times, they used human waste as fertilizers' (a common practice worldwide)

'Hurry, last one gets sacrificed' - Eh?

'They thought Cortes was the god Quetzalcoatl' Not true

'They developed vulcanized rubber while doing drugs' ???

Forgot the intro of universal compulsory education.

  • 7:41, 2012 is not the end of the fricking world people!

  • Hermione Cockburn..

    *giggles*

  • Wow! I never heard of the floating islands. Really interesting stuff here.

I love the "deadly piranhas" in this video and that the "last one gets sacrificed" (LOL)!

  • To be honest only the countries in central america have pride in their indigenous roots. South America and Mexico have simply assimilated too much European culture to be even proud that they have indigenous blood coursing through their veins.

  • The main reason that Mexicans do not take as much pride as we should in our ancestor's achievements is that ever since the Spanish overtake, Mexico has been enslaved and brainwashed by the Catholic religion. People have been told to bow their heads and renounce everything that came before them. Politically and demographically, it's much worse. The rule is basically this: White and foreign is better than dark and indigenous. Want to know more? It's called "El mal de la malinche".

  • neat

  • I wish someone that was a real native of Mexico would have told about our history. How would a European know more about Mexico's History than the Native? Tell me how is that? I don't know that much about my ancestors that were native to Mexico, but I do know more about my Spaniard ancestors. It's sad I don't know more. Maybe I should ask my grandma, my parents don't talk about it much. I Hope they're not ashamed. I know i wouldn't be.

  • @Pearls2256

Various governments of central america and south amnerica hve held systemic brainwashing over its native populations, some downright forbad any remnants of the culture such as dress and language.

If you have the freedom to learn about these cultures do it.

  • european children are learning our history, what the fuck mexico wake up and keep the fuck up... teach YOUR indegenous children their history, their pride, their culture... fucking bitch this vid pisses me off and some of his facts are wrong. the natives did not have the concept of gods that is an colonial term, it was more about science, reality, duality. mexica belief system has been dramaticaly misinturpreted...

  • @1racehumanrace

    +1

Calling out all descendents of Aztec Maya and Inca, teach your children these cultures, make it fun, use the animated colorful writing and art to appeal to their eyes, their curiosity will do the rest.

Each one of us has this blood in us and the thirst for our ancient knowledge only needs AWAKENING.

  • @1racehumanrace thank you. you spoke every word in my head. lol

  • @1racehumanrace finally somebody fuckin understands... our old culture was centuries ahead of every one.. so self sufficient that they didnt need metal tools or the wheel...the europeans destroyed almost everything that was recorded except for a few codices, and over the last 500 years have dehumanized us into a bunch of blood thirsty moon-howlers... they werent pagans or religious fanatics.. they would incorporate their science with philosophy and made astology beautiful, almost an art form

  • @1racehumanrace It's the same in sweden, we learn about every history except our own swedish history (which is the best history in the world in my opinion). it really really sucks, you should be able to honor your forefathers with pride!

  • @1racehumanrace Very powerful words. What's sad is that there're people out there using their ancestors name and make them look like a joke. These are the type of people that don't know their history.

  • @1racehumanrace mynameonhereis a utoaztecuan dialectifanyone could find my name out it would amaze me

  • @1racehumanrace WHY DO YOU WACH IT THEN IF IT `pisses you off` : /

  • 5 stars for the info! Would have been much better if Aztec and Mayans were the ones talking about their history, instead of europeans who pick and choose only what they like.

  • tell me about it, we leave our pride in other peoples hands... but the indegenous people of mexico are to assimilated into spanish culture and media to care about their own great past...bull shit what devastating effects the invasions of spaniards has had on many civilizations.

  • I second that!

  • very true you hardly see their own ppl talking their history who knows what they leave out- good comment

  • @AdawehiMeliLayton The Mayas dissapeared centuries before Europeans arrived. The Aztecs didn't even have a written language of their own so whatever we know about the Aztecs comes from literate Europeans...

  • @unapologeticmind false

    on all points

  • @AdawehiMeliLayton its sad people in u tube think theyknow it allif you want to knowanything about comanches i know

  • I love how Europeans mangle Nahuatl words.

  • People do it to all kinds of languages! When foreigners speak English with an accent, technically they're "mangling" English words too! The fact that they try is important. At least they're not going around saying, "Well, they're unimportant 'cause they're not from 'round where I come from." They're appreciating the history and the culture and trying to understand it.

  • I Love Mexico!

  • I second that. I ♥ Mexico!

  • ♦ ... and I also love the United Mexican States [Estados Unidos Mexicanos] the whole country; not only it's capital.

♥ Mexico = The Heart of Anahuac.

    :o)

  • @gatoverde66 No. The Aztecs had knowledge of bronze. But the best metallurgists of Mesoamerica were the Tarascans and there's ample physical evidence that they used bronze
