  • 5:21 "By prearrangement continue together in a single truck" In other words one of the trucks broke down lol

  • Given clearance, torque, 2 live axles, and weight in the back of this pickup, I'd expect any vehicle with the same setup to get over these challenges as they were really not bad at all. I saw no time where any of the wheels were off the ground,

    Pretty simple stuff 2 me!

  • That is a cool looking truck. Too bad Chevy trucks are so Blase' today. Dodge has the best looking truck now a days.

  • too bad government motors are not this good anymore.

  • cool vid, i like this

  • I love these trucks!

  • those trucks llook amazing

  • WOW, thats great :)

  • sorry its BS. Ive intimate knowlegde of the Pikes Peak Massif. the shots are 4:50 and 5:24 are from the same area - south of devils playground. The direction from which they are implying they came is impassable to vehicles. Intersting;y enough it is also location of a few bigfoot sightings,

  • What has this country become... dependant on others when we were MORE then capable to make the best products in the world... Does this bother anyone else? or is it just me...

  • @Yenjoi69

I agree...it is just ridiculous that not only have we shipped out all of our production and knowledge, we accept the sub-par quality that a lot of these "imports" have. New trucks have many advantages over the trucks of the past....but most of that is only because they are "fresh". Bring a new truck back to 1957, I don't think they would be so much better.

  • I hiked that basic route on foot, it was hell haha.

  • Everything man mad breaks people, its just the driver that sucks. so if your complaining about ANY chevy you just cant drive. end of story.

  • A newer truck could never handle this. Not even close.

  • Excelente reportaje

  • i loved it, i just wish the chevy trucks were still this tough, but unfortunately they took away the straight axle and they took away alot of other stuff, their still good trucks but THEY ARE NO WHERE NEAR AS DURABLE AND CAPABLE AS THEY WERE BACK THEN.

  • Really? Take compareable trucks from 1957 and even 1997 and tell me which one gets up the mountain more easily. Then keep driving and driving and driving and see which one lasts the longest. Which can tow more? Which has more payload? I could go on and on. New is better than old and everybody knows it.

  • That's just plain awesome!

  • I am impressed. I would like to take this time..to issue a formal challenge to Chevrolet to again perform that same test today with the 2010 Chevy Pickups and broadcast it live on the internet. Will Chevy except my Challenge?

  • @matrox

They may except your challenge, but I certainly don't think they'll accept it.

  • Comment removed

  • @matrox

No they wont because the Greenies would have a field day.

  • @matrox you see the problem is is that no one will no the legitamacy of it because of cgi and greenscreening

  • @TheSpeakers20 That area is probably covered with Towhnhouses, Condos and a Mall anyway by now.

  • Those were some great trucks ! They do not build them like that anymore, would love to have one.

  • I had a 1957, two 1958s and a 1959 Napco Conversion. The front axles were the same as the rear, in the case of the 3/4 ton Chevy, you got that huge pumpkin in the front too. They were extremely tough, nothing they came with stock, powerwise, was going to hurt them. The weak link was the horizontal front driveline. I recently found this video on the Napco site. Napco also converted some Fords and Studebakers. Cool stuff... Thanks for posting.

  • Awesome truck...very nice old footage.

  • lol, I love these old promos. The winch was stupid though. Who gets a winch on a stock truck from the dealer.

The rhymes are really funny though.

  • Very common on the "Taskforce" series Chevrolets my 57' which I haven't yet restored came stock with a wench.

  • A lot of people order winches on there trucks.

  • Yeah, that aint no ford!

  • id die for the truck, ima old truck fanatic

  • To Bad we have so many laws against that kind of freedom now, great video, thanks for posting it.

  • that was awsome! I want that truck, looks better than todays models

  • I know where they went. I figured you could do that. Now if I took my jeep, some tree hugger would have a cow.

  • I use to work for a tree hugger, nothing less in a DoD company in Colorado Springs. I was told that if I cared for my job that I curtail my 4x4 activities during my own time !

On this video, I watched it one time long time ago on ch 18 on Colorado Springs Cable - PPLD channel. It was cool.

  • Funny thing is that there are not any trees for most of that. They drove up the back side of Pikes Peak from Cripple Creek. There is some reservoirs from Above Gillette.

  • Wow-weeeeeeee gooooo NAPCO!! Cool video, thanks for uploading it :-)

  • wow very nerdy but the best trucks
