Vai and Vandenberg did a MORE than supremely adequate job playing the Sykes material...Sykes' soul may have occupied the notes we heard him play on those songs, but Vai and Vandenberg did plenty justice by that as well as incorporating their own.

Steve vai (and Vanderberg) just removed the whole intensity of the solo and of the most passionate part of the song (3:45).Very bad for a guitarist so well educated etc.

Sykes is unbelievably more intense,agressive and passionate player.Period.

Go buy the dvd in your local music shop... what is it with the download it is an average quality compared to the real dvd that has all the artwork and features. It is a great concert dvd filmed back then not in hi def but still quite good.. the sound of the dvd is amazing though 5.1 dts.. I must say for me this current line-up 2011 Tour is the best with Doug Aldrich, Reb Beach, Briian Tichy, Michael Devin and Brian Ruedy backing DC.. Whitesnake Rock!!

@sykes0925 Vai has mastered everything on the guitar, something every other guitar virtuoso can only dream off. Not only is Vai a guitarplayer but also a complete composer whoms knowledge about music and the theory of it is perfect. Vai has achieved things in music and guitarplaying that people thought it was not possible like using a ''Xavian'' scale where he divides an octave in 16 notes instead of 12 and therefore he was able to create new scales, sounds and feelings.
