This is a tough MU for Link... his weight is completely negated by ganon's killing power, he just becomes combo fodder. And Link definitely has a harder time killing Ganon. Not to mention Ganon pretty much equals Link in range and priority.

@masterchief676 ganon's b attacks are very slow when used on the ground, they cause a lot of lag after it finishes and have no priority in hitboxes (what means that its easily cancelable if ganondorf is hit during the move)
I bought a refurbished wii when wii's were the hardest thing to get. I waited in line for brawl the day it came out. I played it for a couple of months, decided it sucked, sold my wii and brawl, bought a copy of melee and a gamecube. The best $80 I ever spent. Fuck Brawl.

In Melee, you can't cheat. If you do, you become easily punished. Yes the glitches can be used to make you seem better but applying it to fighting in a real match is much different.

People hate Melee because it was "so hard to play". It requires more technical skill than any SSB game pretty much. Tons of techniques are involved with the game and people become angry about how their fingers can't keep up with the speed.
As for Brawl, it's slowed down, has less techniques, and has more broken characters than before.
And to correct that statement, Brawl was the best game out since 2008. Not this year.

actually, the tier list doesn't really mean all that much. it's based on average performance at tournaments, not on how good the very best player for a certain character is. it is quite possible for a link to beat even the best marth or fox.

I'm not a melee pro really and I have played brawl exclusively but what do you think any of the melee pros who picked up brawl and play it competitively would say is the better game? Hands down every one would most likely say melee. The wavedash and L-cancel along with a faster game(more comboing) mean you have to incorporate considerably more skill than brawl. Brawl takes skill dont get me wrong, but the difference between a noob and pro in brawl is a lot less than melee.

@jah23speak lol Brawl still sucks for competition though.
People hate Melee because it was "so hard to play". It requires more technical skill than any SSB game pretty much. Tons of techniques are involved with the game and people become angry about how their fingers can't keep up with the speed.
As for Brawl, it's slowed down, has less techniques, and has more broken characters than before.
And to correct that statement, Brawl was the best game out since 2008. Not this year.

Nice i play ssbm like crazy im holding a tournament in Angels Camp Cailifornia soon at my place =D my clan will devour most all go CMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! but nice impressive and aniki doesnt even wavedash!I have no true favorite character but i have a what my friends call "BEST" one.

when i use link i use up-b more.
i found that if you grab them, down throw and up they will usually die if they are above 50 percent, or at least go far off the edge so you can easily ledge-guard.

lol im sry but i really expected more from this so called aniki from what iv heard...I 100% know i could easily defeat aniki...because he or she doesnt use all links moves equally...balancing links moves is critical...and thats why im ashamed of this link user =/...oh and for people who hate on me for that...go fck urself...im sure yall can defeat aniki too....just as long as u know how to balance links moves.....*sigh*....and i thought this person was actually good..

actually, the tier list doesn't really mean all that much. it's based on average performance at tournaments, not on how good the very best player for a certain character is. it is quite possible for a link to beat even the best marth or fox.

He's got some pretty bad ones, like usmash (...why does aniki use it so much? there are plenty of other options...) and his arrows, but overall link is pretty BEAST. The main reason ppl think that his moveset is crappy in the first place is because of how slow he is. Well, his projectiles and fastfalling makes up for it. They were kinda meant to. :\

Okay I will. 0:58 is the reason why I still play Melee today. The combo was just too good and was perfectly set up. Even Captain Falcon cried a single, manly drop of tear because he knows that combos like this will never happen again... in Brawl. Melee at its finest. Love it! OR ELSE!!!

Hmm, the gameplay is still generally slower than other character's matches in melee, but that can't be helped. The loz cast is still awesome in Melee. VERY gg. :D
Also, referring to comments made recently, Melee is a better game in the sense of more techs and faster and riskier gameplay. Brawl is more campy, evasive and slow-paced. Not saying that Brawl is a bad game though - it's a good and original game on its own - but Melee truly is better. This is coming from a veteran at both.

I'm not a melee pro really and I have played brawl exclusively but what do you think any of the melee pros who picked up brawl and play it competitively would say is the better game? Hands down every one would most likely say melee. The wavedash and L-cancel along with a faster game(more comboing) mean you have to incorporate considerably more skill than brawl. Brawl takes skill dont get me wrong, but the difference between a noob and pro in brawl is a lot less than melee.

yeah, thats true. but it's still stuff like privot boost and crack walk in brawl. and there's another thing that people tend to forget and thats the fact that brawl was just released, so its pretty naturaly that it's a bigger difference between a pro thats played the game for 7 vs. a noob than a pro thats played the game for 6 months vs. a noob.
and im not a melee hater. melee was my fav game from the day i bought it till the day i bought a wii.

Since when did more sales=better game. Sonic Heroes wasn't that great, yet it made players choice. Your logic failed hard there. Next, if it weren't for Melee setting the stage for Brawl, Brawl wouldn't have sold as well. Lastly, Melee Link rapes everything Brawl Link has. Z-air failed to get Link to rise in the tier list. Your last statement, more tourneys=more money. The decline of melee tourneys forced several of us to play brawl competitively for cash.

It's slower, no legit combos, some veteren characters got nerfed(link comes to mind) and is too noob friendly(recovering is too easy). Plus subspace emmisary was poorly recieved by critics and smash players.

noooooo, I said play Brawl PLUS, different game dude.
But some of what you mentioned is exactly what I DO like. Melee was always too frantic for me, so I prefer Brawl's slower pace, and Brawl + is like the perfect balance between the two games. And my main is actually a newcomer (Toon Link, whos a vast improvement upon YL), and Marth, who's still really good. And recovering is such a pain in the ass, I prefer to be on the stage and concentrate on the FIGHTING. And then theres Stage builder.

You're just some noob who cant handle mildly fast paces. and yeah, a lot of pros or competetive amatuers had to go to brawl because its so hard to find melee tourneys. I tried brawl, hated the slow pace. So I pretty much retired from pro gaming. The odd melee tourney comes up i attend. but otherwise. Brawl has failed. Sheesh, it sucks so bad MLG pro barely covers it anymore

you're an idiot. for starters, more people played brawl because A)like we all discussed earlier, Melee is too intense. B) it was one of the first 5 games to arrive for gamecube, and most people wait to buy a system. therefore, by the time everyone had bought a system, melee had been out for awhile.
