I love this scene it depicts perfectly the regrets of life and how we fail to understand the consequences of our actions when faced with them. How we scream that we wish we could change even one single decision (taken with fear) that changed our lives forever. It's so touching...
I like this version a lot because the emphasis is not on Scrooge's miserly ways, but rather on his bitterness at life and the hard shell he forged to protect himself from being hurt. In this scene you can see how much he regrets the past and wishes he could do it over again.
