I really love the work done by this mod group.

Trying to get SR2 working with WIN 7 and ill try to lower the Percentage to 0.3 since 0.6 still gives me choppy frames but less than regular but so far, great work on the mod. Kinda sad that original company isnt supporting the game any more :S.

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVING CRASH PROBLEMS ON CUTSCENES, READ THIS:

1. You must get Saints Row 2 original with patch v1.2

2. OR you must have Saints Row 2 on Steam

3. You download the Powertools

4. Extract the contents to your SR2 Directory

5. Run install.cmd as an administrator

6. Open Powertools.ini and change the speed % to your liking.

Done!

@Supervideo1491 The two biggest reasons for crashing on cutscenes are outdated Direct X libraries and having the game lose focus when in fullscreen. Try updating Direct X and/or running windowed instead and it should work fine. More info in the SR2 PC FAQ in the Steam SR2 forum which also includes a stopwatch test to get the timescale setting perfect.

You don't execute anything. When you first install Powertools with elevated priviliges (i.e. right clicking install.cmd and choosing Run as Administrator) it creates a symbolic link to DXFreezerServer.dll in your sr2 install directory which automatically loads when you run the game. You will need to edit the powertools.ini file though and change the percentage value to slow it down. For example:

percentage = 0.78

The above is for an e8400 c2d 3Ghz cpu and runs sr2 at 78% speed.

First of all, you need enough memory and a fast enough hard drive. At least 3Gb RAM for Win7 or 4Gb for Vista, and a 7200rpm hard drive with <4ms seek to compensate for the engine streaming problems the port has. You'll also need a decent cpu and gpu (3Ghz C2D and ATI 4870/Nvidia GTX 260.) A trick to help the lag is to delete the contents of c:\windows\prefetch\ and reboot. This should help the engine's prefetching problems.

@CptHellHound Well it crashes for me as well in cutscenes, dont know how to fix it.. I'm playing with a 100 % complete savegame, since i did the game before anyway on my old vista computer.

So i just screw around, so racings, and all other activities like pimpin cars killin zombies minigame...real great....as long as u dont watch cutscenes..not even in ur crib

Crashing on cutscenes with the powertools indicates a Direct X problem. Here are a few things you can try:

* Make sure there are no other Direct X related processes running like fraps or debuggers

* ReInstall the latest Direct X libraries from Microsoft

* Reverify integrity on Steam

* Run windowed instead of fullscreen

NOTE: Powertools will only work properly with the fully patched and encrypted Steam exe. It will not work correctly with a hacked exe or any other like the GFWL one.
