The Pumpkins are my favorite band, but this shit isn't the Pumpkins and Billy Corgan has had it. This may be the worst song he ever wrote and he will never write another good one.
i dont think that going to all singles is going to help the band nessecarily, but Billy thinks that it is not worth his time and effort to make an album because most people will just buy their 1 or 2 favorite songs off of itunes or something. Personally i would buy any album they release.
As much as i LOOOOVEEEE the studio recording, i think it sounds better live. The bass is better :) In my opinion anyway. I love this song lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots :P
This song and superchrist were released as a single sort of like american gothic, Billy has said hes over the traditional album idea. So expect more like this
He said that in the dvd ''If all goes wrong'' because he thinks albums doesnt sell anymore (They being copied etc..) and after that he said he did his comeback for the love of music... ahah...
I think that despite me not liking the new Zeitgeist album, I think this song is pretty good. I don't really like the way they recorded it but live in Kansas City it was good.
lol. the silver dress attire is back i see. Glow is pretty good. It sounds so much like this one riff from pastichio medley.. Superchrist is good. for some reason both of these songs sound to me like they're about acid.
the pumpkins have experimented with several drugs, and had many songs written off of their experiences with them. but its not the main focus. its more of a Generation X focused sound if anything, but along with Generation X came with many drugs, fucked up lives, and suicide. its what you want the songs to be about though, keep that it mind.
This is such an awesome song! Wish they would come out with an official video so the sound quality would be alittle better! This will do for now...so thanks for posting it! :)
i was at this show, wasn't too impressed with this song...superchrist is unbelievable though. there aren't too many bands around today that can jam so heavily and still retain a sense of good songwriting
i really like this song a lot, check for a video of this song that was just posted a few weeks ago when they played it on Spike TV the quality is really good
man i want this song decently bad. i;ve never been a fan of these guys and then i heard this song and i started listening to there other songs and now its like waiting for a cd. except with out a definete release date cuase i dont think im gonna get it for gh. just because i dont have live...
lately, i've listened to a lot of smashing pumpkins. they've got some awesome lighter songs ('disarm', 'landslide' (cover)), and some kick-ass heavier ones (this one, 'zero', 'bullet with butterfly wings'). smashing pumpkins kick ass!!!
Don't forget the songs that weren't hits: XYU, Soma, Porcelina, Glass and the Ghost Children (to name only a small sample of their prolific catalogue).
the fact that you can deduce that makes you a legend. Even listening to all of that "song" makes you an uber-fan, imo, but that you could find the snippet this came from, epic-fandom. I'll have to look into that and see what I think. Thanks for the lead :D
Hmm, I hadn't noticed that so far, but it is true. About 1:58, there it is. Wonder if anything else will or has come out of there into being a real song?
I feel bad when i listen to this new stuff. I don't know, I just don't get that vibe. Sounds like there just isn't chemistry between this group. When you listen to this new stuff it sounds good because they are talentd individuals but I just dont hear the band clicking together. It's missing that magic that even Zwan had.
if you listen to "pastachio medley" you can tell G.L.O.W. originated from the riff "Zoom" so therefore, this shoulde be melon collie style. Just listen and enjoy my friend.
This debuted on a Chicago station today and, the studio version is pretty great. I still think the live version is awesome (maybe better just 'cause it accentuates the bassline more), but either way, the production is better than you'd have heard on Zeitgeist. Have no fear! It's still not vulnerable Pumpkins that I know I personally crave, but it's good stuff, promise!
i heard it in chi, too, you're so right! this time around, they got a new producer who did queen albums or something so the whole album should be sick.
after zeitgeist i was afraid the pumpkins had fallen, but tracks like superchrist and glow shows billy has risen again!
Finally! A good song from the new Pumpkins!!! Well, "Stellar" was good, a few "Zeitgeist" tracks were okay (two were good), and "American Gotchi" was good, but you know what I mean. First really good song.
these guys are back with this. Not as abstract or heartless as anything they've done post-reunion. It's like they put "bullet" and "everlasting gaze" in a blender. I was a little unsure at first, but it's grown on me. 3:20 is pretty euphoria-inducing.
Oh, and stop whining about GH, 'cause you know this'll be one of the most shredtastic songs on there. Probably really hard to play too lol.

A band doesn't really determine what they get to be called. Nirvana often tried to stray away from the word "grunge", but at the end of the day they're always going to be a grunge band.
I think the Smashing Pumpkins not only define Alternative, but by defining their genre as "American Gothic"..they are pushing their true alternative status even further...

This isnt going to be on the album this is a separate single. The next album will be a concept album released next year. They'll be releasing singles every couple of months
since zeitgeist I thought he had forgotten how to write a vocal hook but this is pretty much all good. Depending on the recording this could be a hit.

This isnt going to be on the album this is a separate single. The next album will be a concept album released next year. They'll be releasing singles every couple of months

since zeitgeist I thought he had forgotten how to write a vocal hook but this is pretty much all good. Depending on the recording this could be a hit.
