  • One of the best videos I have seen in a while.

  • Was that a Crosby three chime?

  • @97trainman - no, it is a cnj 3 chime replica

  • just awesome! the foliage, steam and weather are perfect for my favorite time of the year here in the Northeast!! excellent job with your spots and the right camera

  • Damn dude you got some balls to stand in that tunnel with 425! haha. Awesome work dude, I'd definately buy a dvd

  • Possibly the best documented of R&N 425 ever made!!!

  • R&N #425 was awesome in this video. She had some real stack talk in the last few scenes. Also, the two shots from Lake Hauto were absolutely amazing. First, you see the snow, the lake, and the falls colors of the leaves in the trees and only hear the whistle of #425. Then, you not only see the snow, the trees, and the lake, but you also see #425 pulling the train in the snow and hear both its whistle and the locomotive, itself, as it passes by. I love this video. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

  • very very nice, enjoyed it very much, thanks

  • Snow! Great video. How often does it snow that early in October?

  • Totally Awesome!!!

  • I sure would buy DVD's ! Especially, if it has lots more cab footage of 425 like in this video. Sure can't wait to see him run 2102 someday again. I like 425 a lot but 2102 is just awesome ! PM me any details if you make DVD's up.

  • Well Joseph, for me the only it is that I am very far away from you, but if you want my opinion, those images, I mean, the quality of the images and specially the sound, invitate them all to prepare a good DVD toe keep that feeling that transmit tu us these machines. That is my most sincere opinion. Good luck and I keep waiting your new videos, regards

  • Your videos are incredible, thank you for posting!

In this one I'm seeing some interlacing issues . . . is it something on my side?

  • And that my friends is exactly why my playlist is appropreately named "Extreme Steam 2009"

  • Excellent video! The shot from inside the tunnel was really cool. I've got to make it up there to see the 425 someday!

  • Just a fantastic all around job! The Reading & Northern at their best!

  • !:D

  • A truely excellent video, brilliant camera angles

  • 425 is a beautiful locomotive. Nice video

  • 425 is a really nice looking engine, she's now officialy one of my new favorite engines =D

  • I should go there one of these days, what a Beautiful place.

    Where is it located?

  • One of the Best youtube videos I've ever seen! Nice engine and nice railroad too.

You picked the perfect locations, if you like scenic locations like these, you will love "The Spot" in Niles Canyon.

    5***** and favorited.

  • 7 minutes 38 seconds ???????????

    Thats all . . . from 3 trips ??

  • Hey acdc, how many days are left on the boiler? And what kind of things do they work on during the winter? Pretty lucky guy getting to fire the thunder. Also any steam is good steam even if theres a diesels behind it.

  • Worn rings yes........no power......not true. She pulled the entire train up the hometown hill without help on the 18. Ask anyone who runs the diesels. Im one of them myself........

  • Another wonderful video! Your channel is a great source of joy to the little one.

  • hermoso tren

    muy bonito

  • good job!

  • The shot at Lake Hauto is the best! Sweet video as always joe. Now im just waiting for the michigan footage!

  • What's that icky green thing doing behind the extra tender?

(I presume the extra tender was for more water due to the lack of water tanks in these benighted times...)

  • We just throw that behind the 425 for some more weight......make her bark a little bit!

  • Breath Taking images and superb camera work..Thanks very much...Bob 5*

  • Excellent Job. Tom from N.Y.C.

  • Nice video

  • awsome video joe, those cab ride shots were out of this world. keep up the excellent work

  • Just out of curiousity, and this is a question for everyone, would anyone be interested in purchasing a full-length 425 DVD? I am strongly considering making/releasing one if there is enough interest.

  • I'd definitely purchase a copy, but only if you include live commentary by Hughie LeBlanc.

  • Dude your vids rock. I bet you'd sell a ton of dvd's. Just gotta get the word out in the right spots. I would definetly take one.

  • Ya I would for 10 or 15 bucks!!!

  • @JoMiFu Oh, yeah! This is the best train-folliage video I've ever seen. Of course, I'm partial. I rode behind 425 in '91 and I want to do it again.

  • @JoMiFu Hell yes, do it man! This is one amazing production that you took and I would gladly pay $15 for it. I'd even put it on my website when its all finished up =D
