  • Use an orange LED light for the clock part.

    Just a suggestion.

  • I have a question I have 2 of these one a flip ones a rollover the flip has a weak light but the casing is like brand new the rollover is beat to hell the motor died a while back :( but the light is wonderful could I combine these 2 clocks 2 make one revolving working clock?

  • @zakarylakota I don't see why not. I would think they both use the same light bulb.

  • Any hints on how to take this apart? I'm stuck at the dial for the digits; does it just pull straight out? I don't want to break it. Thx

  • @joejoethedogfaceboy Yes, it pulls straight out. It's a little tougher than the other knobs to take off.

  • the flip digits, do not give even time, they have to be adjusted now and then, and eventually fail to work after a while.

  • Yep it's the same one my aunt in VA. has. This is also from 1980.

  • I guess 3049 mean 3049 means 1973 the 49th day

  • can you help me mine has a funky alarm it went off an hour early.

  • I figured it out due to your video and I also I subscribed to you thanks man

  • @pugsrkool hey cool! I'm glad it helped you. Thanks for subscribing.

  • And what is the alarm set in 5's or 10's please reply.

  • Ok I just put a blanket over it and the light works great not bad for 1 dollar

  • I just got one from damaskus house works great but I give you feed back on the light

  • hey i have that exact same one with practically no scratches, it was even refurburished once judging by the sticker, but my light burnt out. its a neon light they go bad but you can get new ones offa the home depot or ebay they run 120v light

  • @barrybob32 hey i just replaced the light in mine. instead of using an ne-2 neon bulb i used a radioshack jumbo panel mount neon lamp assembly. its amber colored i believe. seems to work great all i did was wrap teh wires together. than i coverd it up with tape, make sure if you replace the bulb you peel off the reflective tape thats originally on it so you can put it back on.

  • I have the same model. The clock was taken out many years ago because the motor was getting very noisy. But the radio part still works fine!

  • HAHAHA that's my clock! =D well i have a clock of the same model. my light doesn't work anymore although it may flicker every once in a while.. my radio doesn't work on FM either.. just AM. interesting though :)

  • I have a flip-digit model that looks very similar (but w/ an illuminated radio dial). I did replace the clock lamp in mine. An NE-2 neon bulb from RadioShack, a quick bit of soldering & it was as good as new. The old bulb still worked but was very blackened (hence it was very dim like yours).

  • you have that on wikipedia... I realized that completely by coincidence

  • Trance88 can you tell me a model number of a am fm clock radio made by General electric its on my page look up Vintage GE AM/FM alarm clock radio on here

  • tell me about that buzzing i hate that sound whin i was a kid

  • I want one like that. I bought one with the flip-numbers, but it ran really slow, so i ended up being late for work the next day lol

  • i have that same model and the light even works

  • Mine must have gotten a lot of use in its 32 years of existence.

  • nice! one of my aunts who lives in va has that same model, but the clock part don't work.

  • Oh yeah? I actually saw an alarm clock almost identical to this one at a different goodwill. It had flip down numbers. I would have gotten that one but the clock part was broken too.

  • I love it! Sounds great :)

That is a neon bulb in there... a new one should remedy that problem of it being too dim.
