The obliques don't cross the knee, however, gravity does. Constant pressure on the muscle won't eliminate that force. The knee is like a stapler. You wouldn't turn it on its side on put force accross the hinge. I'm glad you haven't damaged your joints. Maybe, you haven't done it long enough, your legs are shorter, or haven't done activities (cutting) that might tear your knee or maybe you just have great genetics. The point is, there are many ways to work your obliques, why take a chance?
if those oblique crunches on the roman chair are hurting your knees then you're too weak to use that piece of equipment. i've been doing oblique crunches on a piece of equipment just like that chair and I've done no damage to my joints. if you can keep constant pressure on the muscle you're working out, then that stress won't move to joints.
very informative video! the only thing that bugs me is that the audio isn't synced with the video. other than that, i really like it! thanks for uploading this!
I'm so glad you get this info! Hopefully it will save your body down the line. I willl try and do a better job with the camera angles and emphasize the correct position. thanks
This is something the gym instructors are not bothered to tell you. Im enjoying the videos and they are very helpful, please do more!!!
Please emphasise more on the correct position, Will help if you also use different camera techniques (zoom in , zoom out) or different camera angels..
