I feel bad that I even doubted that man. He was a class act and a class coach. His loss to the program is reason we have fell. And he did it the right way. Never heard of his players constantly acting up or doing things that were illegal. I would rather have a program with class than a program like other schools and win all the time. He is missed as coach and I pray that the new coach will bring us back to where we once were. Winning with class.

Oh man. I miss that guy. Michigan ruined the football program by hiring a spread offense coach. Its just not the same Michigan we all knew and love. Hopefully we can get someone like Carr, or Bo in the near future.

This game was one of the proudest moments of my life as a Michigan fan and seeing Carr carried off the field in a victory celebration for the last time was priceless. What started out as a horrible season it looked like in first 2 weeks ended with a triumphant and valiant finish! GO BLUE!

Unfortunately you can blame him for the players mistakes. This isn't the NFL. How can you consider him a good coach, if he doesn't teach his kids fundemantals. It's his fault for recruiting players who make "mistakes." Its his fault for allowing "mistakes" to happen time after time. Lloyd Carr had bad teams every once in a while. And he went 7-5! Thats what a winning programs does. They turn bad teams into winners, and they turn good teams into great teams. And great teams into champs.

I would of loved to see Carr use that offense in that Florida game, for the whole season. Just to see how we would play.

thats all true, but we need to give him at least 3-4 years. You can't expect a guy to completely change everything about the team and then win out. It's not all his fault either, you can't blame him for the players mistakes

Wow you are really living in the past. There is a saying "resting on your laurels" and Michigan has been resting on their laurels for quite some time. If you honestly don't think Rod can do anything to salvage himself you are crazy! Lloyd was being pushed to step down from inside michigan, due to lack of ohio state and bowl wins, but michigan was not going to all out fire such a first class coach.

Carr is a tough cookie...never wore his emotions on his sleeve. Some would say cold. But that waver in his voice, and the big swallow when he says "Well, I love'em to death!" tells you who Lloyd Carr really is.

I've met him 3 times, and I could only wish to be remembered as he will be...and to have the respect of Jake Long, Chad Henne, and Mike Hart, Adrian, Mario and the rest, well--how would YOU like to have Mike Hart looking up to you?

Look up the words class and dignity and you will see Lloyd Carr...He was ridiculed for some key losses but he ran Michigan with CLASS and never an NCAA problem....Bo is proud Im sure..

hes my favorite coach i cried after this game im so glad they won that game for him and it really was time for him to retire he has lost a lot of fire but ill always miss him and of course his halftime interviews were the best im glad we got rich and not les rich will do a better job at michigan even though he isnt a michigan man look at bo he wasnt ethier

That's where you're wrong. If you read Bo's book you would have read the part where he as a kid always wanted to see the Wolverines when he went through Michigan, and dreamed of being there someday. So to say he wasn't a Michigan man is dead wrong. (I'm not a Michigan fan by any means, but I admire Bo and respect the program).

I love the guy as much as anyone but I think it was time for him to retire anyway and Lloyd knew that.

I'm thrilled beyond belief that he got to go out with a win, though.  He certainly deserved it.
