@Absintheology but van gogh and oscar wilde both talked about this effect that absenthe gave them, causing them to have a very different effect than that of other alcohol drinks. has something changed in the making of this drink since then which has caused this effect to no longer be given to those drinking it?
Not anymore. Absinthe has been legalised for a few years now, and there's strict regulations as to the amount of Thujone, even though it's been shown that it dos'nt get you high
I'm still new to Absinthe only having three bands so far, La Fee Obsello and Mata Hari. it seems that they all have some differences, smell alone was completely different.
So far Obsello is my favorite. Starts off sweet from the wine base, then the anise and wormwood kick in. The wormwood is a nice touch in the flavor balance out the Anise along with the mint. Can't quite make out another flavor though Really earthy.
Obsello is a Spanish absinthe made for import to the US. The flavor you are not identifying is probably fennel. You have good taste. Obsello is a very nice absinthe.
great vid! you already mentioned the star wars stratego heh. the look on your face when you try the wormwood is priceless!! very straightforward and full of knowledge. great job! too bad I can't stand the liquorish flavour of absinthe heh. but yea, GREAT JOB!! like the cool music in teh background. I've only tried czech absinthe and it's EXTREMELY bitter at 120 proof. I think this is now my liquor of choice!
Try fresh wormwood leaves, delicious!
