También para mi es una sorpresa descubrir esta rica melodía interpretada por la gran Donna, sin embargo siento que los arreglos no están al nivel de la reina del Disco.
That surprised me because I just carry my adolescence I loved from that time no? but the surprise is that SING DONNA LA VIE EN ROSE and cued me your permission to copy my favorites in my channel my name Roberto Marroquin for friends BOB
Donna Summer is awesome. She has a way of putting a new twist on a song that makes it even more beautiful. I love this rendition so much I listen to it over and over.
Donna does a great version of this song but Grace Jones owns it. I remember back in the 70s when I heard Grace's version and I was thinking 'What is this Song and whose singing it?" Well I saw Grace live in 1981 at the Paradise Garage in NY with my cous and her hubby back then and this was her intro. What a show and this lame guy from CT was in awe.
It reminds me of the first time I saw Donna live. What a set of pipes on this lady, no lip syncing here for sure. She sang other style besides dance songs, which were above reproach, I can remember it like it was yesterday......
OOh yes thats also well very great singing ,thats fine ,there are different style , and that is good so ,beautifull woman with charme and great voice ,clearly ........., for me thats more woman not to much difficult bi or something ,of course Grace is also good ,but this is real fine WOMAN
Her voice is amazing and she sings it better than most. Her producers never provided her with a proper arrangement for the majority of her songs. Even on Don't Cry for me Argentina they didn't think to use a full orchestra with strings.
WOW! This is a rare treat. Never heard this/ her version. This is obviously a tribute version, created for US MOR radio. While it is not ground-breaking or challenging in any way it still shows Donna's unique and impressive vocals.
Best version is still the original. 2nd best is Grace Jones.
But this is a nice enough effort.
Even Donna's worst songs are miles better than all that RnB Pop crap you have in the charts these days.
I have nothing against Donna Summers herself, nor her voice or her talent. I do agree that she's a tremendous singer, but...I'm rather opposed to the pop corruption of such a beautiful and traditional French song.
I have no doubt that I'd enjoy this song without the pop drums and the peppy backup singers...but as it is, I honestly can't say I enjoy this.
Sorry to all who favour this version, but I can't bring myself to promote it. Just awful.
Donna is a diva however...this song just doesnt represent her. I dont mean to be rude however the bpm's are too slow. Edith Piaf rocks my world anytime!
It is definitively a different version ... maybe good for dancing even when it seems a christmas song ... maybe because the little bells that ocassionaly sounds ... and yeap ... I prefere Grace Jones version :)
Donna's voice is incredible. I'd love to hear her sing modern jazz. As much as she will always be queen to dance music, she's got the voice for everything! I bet she'd sound beautiful in an upbeat jazz CD. But, then again, she's Donna Summer. She's great at anything. What ever happened to "Ordinary Girl?"
There is only one DONNA SUMMER!!! Oh my God, she is an incredible entertainer. Her voice outshines any other. Not only is it powerful, it's unique in such a beautiful way. From her old right to her latest "Crayons" cd. We love you Donna!!!!!
I love Donna Summers, brings back meany memories.

A reasonable update - but Edith Piaf, no. Its impossible to redo this by anybody. But Donna's version is the best of the others.

J aime biens cette version disco, je pense que c'est un bel hommage a notre Edith Piaf national .
