@ngilman9 How is it unfair or insulting? Just because the classical composers' work has been around a lot longer, does that automatically make them better, or somehow more deserving of our admiration or respect? It is opinion, and lots of people are of the opinion that this work is better, simple as that.
@DragonsEqualLife i never said they [classical composers] were better. i claimed it unfair and insulting because a) each composer comes from a different era or "sound" of music. vivaldi- baroque , mozart- classical, tsfh- contemporary, modern thus (and) b) the instruments employed by classical composers vs. tsfh, are not the same. i.e electrical guitars, computers, etc. Its like comparing "apples to oranges" so the saying goes.
@DragonsEqualLife i just found it unnecessary to discredit the work and ability of other composers, in order to praise another/others (in this case, Two Steps from Hell).
@ngilman9 I agree with you. As much as I love lots of tsfh music, I can not say that they are better composers than a composer from the classical era. They are just too different. It's just like comparing a strategy game such as Starcraft II to an rpg game such as SW The Old Republic - you can't because they are completely different genres.
I like how the song itself sounds like a sword fight. Listen to it: Everything that is said in this song is immediately followed by something else, like a sword linking one hit after another relentlessly.
@backuganhelper That's not extremely impressive considering this is better than Beethoven, Bach, and Handel all rolled into a sound burrito with Tchaikovsky as Tabasco sauce.

@M40A3 its unfair and insulting to draw comparisons between modern and classical composers, just because you prefer this over them.

@wtd15 yeah, except an actual sword fight sounds nothing like that. You're just thinking of the sword fights you see in movies.

@M40A3 Where their due respects lie, but without any of those composers, Two Steps From Hell may have never come into existence. ^^
