YES!!! I have been looking for this video for years! I felt so touched by the little maraca with the hammers back when I first watched it and pledged to never let myself become a hammer and always be a maraca lol! Thank you so much for posting this <3
This is what I like about vintage computer animations. So many computer animators today are concerned with trying to make everything look real, but to me, the uniformity and perfect synchronicity made possible by computer animation is a beauty and art form all its own, like the perfect unison of all those little hammers. I still enjoy these vintage animations more than modern ones.
Very artistic! One could write a sociological essay on this video.
I seem to remember a video of the same sort, where at the end it shows godly beings playing with the Earth and other planets as though they were like marbles. Does anyone recall that? Can you lead me to a link if you do?
The very first couple images in this were also in the movie "Johnny Mnemonic". The only scene I can recall where they're playing marbles with universe inside each marble is the very end scene of the movie "Men in Black".
You're absolutely right! This video reminded me of the final scene from MIB. I watched that movie a few days ago and I realized that that scene is what I had been thinking of. Good job to identify it!
Thomas Dolby did "THE GATE TO THE MIND"S EYE". And it is the best one ever made...and still stands up to today's latest thing if you open up to it and get lost in it. It's just fantastic and i've seen them all...except..i'm looking for one called "Turbulence" and I know nothing about it except that the director of the mind's eyes' did it. If anyone knows about it I'm interested.
wow, this is a very deep video... this is actually alot how I interpret life and how humans react to everything around us. The ending really got to me. Some people really "do" turn away from being different because they're too scared to take a chance :(
This was not composed by Thomas Dolby. It is actually by lead Kansas guitarist Kerry Livgreen, and appears on 'Odyssey into the Mind's Eye'. It's my favorite part, too.
I believe this is called "Out of Step," just in case people couldn't find this anywhere else. That's the official name. At least on the album it is.
