  • Bellissimo!!!

  • great work..love it..!!

  • wow dude im impressed thats some good art and good inking

  • Nice choice of song! ;)

  • Your works amazing mate.. i collect sketch cards like this, what you drew would be worth hundreds for sure. Really nice detailed sketch card. Im 22 and getting bak into my sketches now, i seriously want to work for rittenhouse.. but how much do they pay per card ?? o.o the box with a sketch card goes for like 60-90 dollars, dont know how the artist would get much.. and you have to do hundreds per release.

  • @RaNdOmBrEeZe It did sell for quite a bit. It was one of the more sought after cards of that set and showcased a "stepping up" of my skills at the time. I know who owns it and he loves it so what more can I ask? :)

The pay on sketch cards is variable but generally set work is not really good. I've signed NDA so I cannot discuss what RA pays but most places are 1 USD to 3 USD. So even though the card sold great that was aftermarket and I don't see a share of it.

  • this is what we call talent

  • what pens did you used..your good

  • @MrBoyromansa I did use microns but they weren't alcohol proof so they smeared in markers so I switched to copic multiliners and Staedler Multiliners. I also use a nib and India ink. It all depends on what I am going for and how fast it needs to be done.

  • @fishdirt thanks man...nice

  • I have couple questions, How long did it actual take to draw that? and how do you get into drawing sketch cards for marvel?

  • @ford1go If I remember right the drawing took about 6 to 8 hours spread over a couple days to do (this was done over a year ago).

Same process for getting any freelance work really. Find the card companies putting the cards out and just submit submit submit. It helps to build a name up beforehand though. If you have work and I like it I can recommend work for you.

  • @fishdirt Thanks for replying and yes I would like to give it a shot someday in the near future but like you said I probably should build up a name and my portfolio first then try.

  • @fishdirt Dude i hate the fact that i can draw ....i want to add color to my drawings instead of just keeping them black and white can u tell me the tools u used?..

  • @dominicanfigure169 For this piece I used copic and prismacolor markers as they blend and don't leave streak marks. If your on a budget colored pencils work but I have also used water color pencils.

  • George Calloway !!! do you still do live ustream ?

  • @alicemariah not right now. Camera broke down but it's currently back on it's way home after some warranty servicing :) So hopefully soon.

  • @fishdirt sucks . i stop getting on the cpu and now i do again and your camera is down smh

  • That was just awesome! I love it!

  • how long does it take to draw one card?

  • @daebob It takes me roughly 2 to 6 hours for one card. For a quicky with bare detail maybe an hour.

  • And this is a perfect example of why I love sketch cards. :)

  • Inspiring work thank you for sharing

  • Hi cool video!

I have a question, what kind of pen did you use for the inking?

  • @Denondejohn Microns, copic multi liner and sometimes a 102 crow quill nib with Martin;s Hi carb black star india ink (works well with marker)

  • Great work, Geo!! Awesome vid as well!

  • I have a few questions.

    1) Do you actually work for Marvel?

    2) Can you release a tutorial video on how to do the deep black shading (1:56-3:17)?

  • 1) Marvel approves these cards for a card set from Licensee RittenHouse Archives. I'm subcontracted by RA but must pass muster with Marvel.

    2) Being very disgusted with "How to draw" videos I see on youtube and requests I will be releasing some tutorials here also you may see a book from me in the upcoming year.

  • awesome! can some1 please tell me what kind of markers does he use for coloring? :(

  • Copic sketch and Prismacolor markers :)

  • @fishdirt tnx m8 :)

  • Awesome work there Geroge - You are going to rock this set!!!

  • My head just exploded again. Great job on this one bro. Great technique you have going here. Definitely something I can use.

  • Great card man.

So much work goes into just one.

Sketch cards are the thing for you man, believe that!

Keep it the good work G, & keep up the vids.

  • 5/5 WOW!! That blew me away! Awesome ink work and details and even with the colors. I liked what you did with the two corners as well...cool texture....along with the white pen usage.

Nice intro too, but the font for the credits may be too much...perhaps too small, thick with not enough kerning (I believe it's called). Even though you have the option of HQ...'assume' everyone watches it in standard format. But that's my only quirk. XD

Overall...just outstanding! This puts my vids to shame.

  • Yeah after the fact I realized that was just a terrible font. I was trying to find a free font similar to the one used on the official world war Hulk mast head.

    Thanks for insight Nicole! Appreciated!

  • Well, I was thinking it was cool...just not legible. XD But I liked how you tried to continue the Hulk theme through all of the video...kudos on that!

  • The cards are looking better and better, its cool to see how you do it. Well done sir.
