@DragonTiger69 Thanks ! The actors, producers, and directors never told anything about what the movie's really about. The interview they gave to Charlie Rose few years ago is quite good. They talk about the themes of love and choice but you can sense that they know that something else is in the movie. Like it's said by Morpheus in the first movie : "You have to see it for yourself."

All of what we experience as "reality" is essentially a virtual reality simulation assembled in the mind/brain. Nothing can possibly exist the way that it seems to us. As soon as we experience something, we have filtered it through perceptions, concepts, frozen a changing process into a static object. As soon as you experience something, you have already oversimplified and distorted it. Observe your own process of experiencing.
This concept is thoroughly, profoundly explored by Carlos Castaneda's books. Specially the part about perception and how ALL humans change their perception of their surrounding world-reality by moving their 'assemblage point' while sleep but very, very few can do so while conscious and at will. Robert Monroe wrote books on the subject also and he believed that only about 1000 people on earth had such capability at a given time.

@lynnegordon Sure, some blind people can use use hearing in a sonar-like way to "see". Sure, some deaf people can "hear" by feeling vibrations. But really, that's not true seeing or hearing. It's expansion of other senses to make up for lost ones. If a person is blind, deaf, and numb, and they still manage to see and hear, then fine. I agree there's an outside force. But otherwise, it all comes down to remaining senses developing to fill the "gap" in information that occurs when a sense is lost.

When you and I both look at a red car, we both see the exact same red car... yet nothing comes back out of our eyes and identifies that object as a red car.

If there is no spoon, the spoon should disappear, not bend. We only see things we believe most of the time. Think about a time you are walking in the hall and you don't notice people until you "pay attention" or believe they are there. Plus, how do you say there is no spoon when you use the word spoon.
