Steven Tyler in a hat borrowed from Joan Crawford - he looks more like a drag queen everytime I see him - very entertaining. I vowed never to watch the show again after the horroble "country singer" who looked like Howdy Doody won. But, I heard the buzz regarding this kid & had to check it out. Excellent singer, passionate and soulful; I hope he does well.

Okay, all of you comparing him to MJ need to just take a listen again...he wasn't trying to be MJ. Are you all mentally incapacitated in some way? This version was bluesy and freaking amazing! If you call yourself a MJ fan, you should be ashamed of yourselves. MJ was all about all kinds of music, so don't hate just because he didn't do the song just so. I thought it was outstanding!!!

@Spideymrw Can't agree more. But, it's not just the judges. Watch any of the many "Idol-type" programs and the audiences seem to feel it's more important to scream and carry on, frequently drowning out the performance. Maybe it's the studio idiot prompters "MAKE NOISE!!" or maybe it's just an American thing. I'd love for some singer to just stop and stand there until the cacophony dies down. Probably related to the overall lack of respect for just about everything.
