  • I'm pretty much building a similar set up in my 07 v6 and i was wondering how you did the exhasut manifold setup?, i was thinking of leaving mine where they are at and having the pipes come up underneath the motor and to my turbo.

  • what kind cam size do you have

  • Stock cams. Stock block and heads save for stiffer valve springs (re-purposed Nissan 909-1 from comp cam). That's the only mod to the motor itself.

  • how much does it cost to get it like that?

  • Price depending on supporting mods. 8.8 rear, Aluminum driveshaft, Lower control arms, a Tremec 3650 trans out of a GT and an adapter, Spec stage 3+ clutch and the turbo kit/or one fabricated - will cost you 5 to 7K if you shop around and do some of the work yourself.

  • @forced4motorsports thanks man i aprreciate it, and sweet ride!

  • can your mods you installed be installed in other sohc 4.0 vehicles? thanx crazy video btw

  • Depends on the chassis. In general, yes. If it's a 4.0 mustang, definitely. Hot side pipe routing does come in to play if you are talking Explorer or 4.0 SOHC rangers. The 909-1 valve springs would be a must for any F/I 4.0 running more than 8 PSI. As for the turbo system, if it's not an 05-09 Mustang, you'd be better off having the pipe custom fabricated.

  • @forced4motorsports hmmmm its a ford ranger and its got true duals on thinking of this for a while. Your internals for the engine, are they an easy install and where can i find them???

  • Missed this, sorry... no internals. Block is stock. As mentioned before the only mod to the engine as a hole was Comp Cams Nissan 909-1 valve springs to prevent float and higher boost levels. I can run 9 to 15 PSI now with no float.

  • @forced4motorsports so was the cams an easy find/install?

  • wow stock iz 210hp & he almost dubled but i think those parts would have been - better apresheated on a newer moder - the comes with 304hp stock :/

  • "& SHE almost doubled"

Stock is about 170 to the wheels and the latest dyno was 414 HP and 478 TQ @ 12.9 PSI so I more than doubled the stock power by 74 HP. I have a 2011 that will be turbo charged; hopefully sooner than later, as I've been busy with other projects as of late. The 3.7 should put down about the same power as my 06 4.0 but at only 8 PSI boost. We'll see if the aluminum block hold together at that power for a while and then slowly bump it until we hit 500 or it blows

  • best sounding v6 ever

  • Hey do you guys think there will be any valve float on a 4.0 running 12psi on a procharger? Exactly what nissan valve springs did you go with?

  • It is possible but less likely on a SC. I would get them anyway. The valve springs are Comp Cams Nissan 909-1 search for 909-1 on the Comp Cam site and you'll find them.

This is an older dyno BTW. Car is running 12.9 PSI on Water/Meth now with 12 degrees timing at peak torque. Put down 414 HP 478 TQ..

  • @forced4motorsports Ok sounds good, thanks for the heads up and quick reply!

  • Shit thats a good job on that stock 4l. cant really picture it lasting to long. how long have you ran it like that?

  • @RichieM089 - Stock transmission didn't last, but the motor is just fine. It's on year 5. The first two without the stiffer valve springs. I have about 55K on the clock. I'm heading to VA to have water/meth installed and tuned tomorrow. I'm not really looking for more power, just a better power band past 4500 RPM. Consistency is a bit of a problem at the track, as WOT in the top of 3rd and all of 4th has no umph.

  • @forced4motorsports thats pretty 4.0 pretty powerful. glad to see it can take such a beating. good job you got a nice build. ever come across gts on the road trying to be tough and you show them up lol

  • Sounds like a Honda Civic

  • im assuming your only pulling to like mid 5k rpms? thats why the hp is low?

  • 384 isn't really low given the 4.0 V6s average 165-175 N/A. Timing was conservative during this initial tune; it's up around 438/525 on 16 PSI with 16* of timing (13 @ peak torque). It's a stock motor so it's probably close to maxed out. Runs were to 6200 RPM.

  • @forced4motorsports wow thats a lot of torque then out of 13psi. i heard those 4.0 blocks can crack at around 500hp. thats great your able to get 525lbs of tq out of a stock block and stock heads/cam right? pretty amazing how good those 4.0's take boost.

  • @turbonegro1120 your on crack if u think thats low hp

  • @turbonegro1120 compared to the torque yes. usually torque is about the same has peak hp but the torque curve is just a little different with the turbo i just wasnt thinking about that.

  • any idea why these 4.0s always have some much more torque than HP ??

  • AWESOME! i have the exact same car . same color , blacked out taillight section and balcked out llights , mine also has black racing stripes and is lowered with window tint . is there anyway i can can get this exact turbo kit you are running on this car ? if you could let me know that would be really appreciated .. sic car man ! sicsix

  • AWESOME! i have the exact same car . same color , blacked out taillight section and balcked out llights , mine also has black racing stripes and is lowered with window tint . is there anyway i can can get this exact turbo kit you are running on this car ? if you

  • thumbs up if 18-23 sounds like a cummins!

  • Where in CT are you located?

  • I'm in New York. New Paltz area.

  • @forced4motorsports Not familiar with that area. Love your stang. I must say that this is truly the only way to modify a v6 powered mustang.

  • You still running the stock horrible T5 tranny?

  • @wolf1010

No; I have a T3650 out of a GT in there now. I blew up the T5 mid summer 09.

  • @forced4motorsports lmao thats why I asked, I heard a lot of problems with the T5 both before and after F/I.

  • you had to custom fabricate the headers and exhaust?

  • Just the exhaust. The manifolds are stock.

  • @forced4motorsports I changed the manifold on my 4.0 and it made a big difference off the line i recommend long tubes headers

  • lol when you let off the gas it sounds lika elephant..

  • @maxrieser Exactly! ...like a trumpet. I'm hoping some work in progress on the turbo kit and exhaust will fix that problem.

  • Sounds a little like an Aston Martin

  • what kind of price range would i be looking at to copy this? piece for piece

  • @mean71cuda

Materials alone about 5K. That includes the T3650 Transmission, 8.8 rear, vlale springs, 60# injectors, turbo, piping all the trimmings... and the dyno tune. If you are not doing the labor, add 3-4 grand. Add about 1200 for bias-ply ET streets, skinnies and the rims to mount them on and you'll have an 11 second car.

    Best to date on a warm day (1800 DA) 12.21 @ 117

  • sounds like an elephant when the gas is released

  • nice

  • Nice car. What are your tire and rim sizes?

  • @coldmv

Sorry cold, did not get a notification... 18 inch deep dish with 285/40s on the back and 255/45s on the front.

  • ive got a CAI and big bore throttle body, would changing my MAF help my N/A engine or did you just do that because of the turbo?

  • @voltwings

The MAF won't make a difference. I did it for more low end resolution so I could use a bigger intake and get a stock level idle. I'm going back to Jannetty in a few days to tune with a 90mm and level off the HP/TQ at the top end if it can be done. The 76mm intake pipe was fine but I don't like the MAF extender set to 3. It makes it harder to tune.

  • Fuckin' Torque Monster

  • damn sick!! and 3 years on stock internals

  • @3000gtvr4turbo1000

4 years now. I'm looking for 11s this season.

  • Nice power! i had a few questions though what company is the turbo made by and where is your turbo located? also how reliable is the car for daily driving?

  • We make the kit. The turbo is located on the passenger side front of the engine bay and sits about level with the steering rack. You cannot see it under the hood unless you look for it. The car is my daily driver and the turbo has been on the car now for 3 years. I blew up the manual transmission at the track after I tuned for 13 PSI, but beyond that, no problems. I keep it to 10 PS or less on the street or I have traction issues.

  • sweet cause i'm making my own kit and was just wondering on how reliable the car is for daily driving. I havent decided for a location for the turbo yet i was thinking about next to the tranny on the passenger side or in the engine bay like yours.

  • how much does the kit cost?

  • Estimate price on the kit?

  • Supersix's engine package with this car's already impressive specs will make over 400rwhp easy

  • We are going a different route. Modified H beam 4.6 rods and custom pistons for an 8.4:1 compression. I've already got a spare block with heads, cams and it's machined/uses Cobra valve springs. Should be good for 600 HP @ 20 PSI.

If I up the timing a few degrees; it's only at 9* past 5500 @ WOT, I'd already be @ 400 HP. The tune is very conservative. We are going to tune with 100 Octane and 15 PSI for the Sep track rental and should see 420 RWHP 500 RWTQ on the stock block if it lives. lol

  • How well is (or was lol), the partial throttle response...like merging onto the highway from say 40mph to maybe 60-65 mph?

  • In 4th @ 40 for safety I'd have no problems. Third @ 40, if I got to aggressive on the gas, I'd likely break the tires loose depending on the temps. More likely in cool weather. There is no turbo lag to speak of.

  • why dont you swap for a 5.4 engine, isnt cheaper?, That will give even more power to the car.

  • Not really. It would cost more to have started with a 5.4. Unless you buy a GT500 5.4, the 3V 5.4 would still need to be built to handle the power I'll be making out of a stock V6 @ 15 PSI. That power would near kill a 5.4 because of the cracked powder rods they use in the mod motors. I've also got about 350 or so pounds less weight up front with the V6. The built motor will push 590+ @ 20 PSI. It will have cost about 9K total once I'm done. That's for every mod from suspension to built block..

  • i saw a stang 06 with a 5.4 engine twin turbo making 10s, but i guess they spend much more than 9K. Keep it on but safe its a lot of money, wish i can spend that money on my V6...

  • best v6 stang out there man

  • actually i think a woman drives this car. Mad props to the owner

  • a women she is a badass lady then but i dont think a girl drives this hardly any girls drive fast and stuff just all slow on there phones and crap

  • hahaha be careful but yeah on one of the other videos she said that she was a girl and at the end of the video it says "The Crazy Psycho Bitch Project"

  • lol - I didn't get email notification on the replies to Stick. I own it, I built it, and I race it... and I am a girl.

I posted up the first track vid after the tune. watch?v=fvH4ZbjcvF8

Next up is a 13 PSI run. If the driver mod I'm working on is good enough, I should hit high 11s. I'll try 15 PSI on 100 octane in September and see if I can get a cage warning. lol That'll be almost as good as a trophy.

    Jenna

  • u are a badass girl then wow now i wish i had a girl like that but oh well lol u must be badass glad u like and into cars other girls arent hardly well my girlfreind is but no all like you tho you are a badass girl lol espeaccailly for driving a stang i swear i thought it was a boy ure amazing truly amazing that would be so badass if u do run the 11s tho

  • very nice .. congrats... enjoy!!
